"FRAUDS KEEP AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was not notified of their diagnosis and anticipated charges-not professional or fair to not contact the customer. Received the mower back, placed on lawn and now was missing a screw on the top housing and the throttle rod was now disengaged, Contacted them, dropped off to repair their error which they provided the petty repair to fix.NOW COMES ANOTHER PROBLEM SUDDNLY HAPPENING AGAIN TO MY MOWER UNDER THEIR CARE.

As written above, the mower was repaired but a sudden surprising throttle rod was disengaged once I placed on the lawn. COntacted them,
claimed they would evaluate and get back to me in a few days
Murphy contacted me later next week, told me that there was good and bad news, 1st the rod was fixed at their expense, however now the rope recoil was not recoiling and the rope BROKE, as it "BROKE" upon their checkout process.
They claim to have it fixed with charges of material at cost, and labor only 1/2 hour upon a 1 1/2 hour job at 115.00. I agreed to go forth and during this time, I called stewarts in Holbrook and they claim should only be at about 100.00 with full cost of material and labor.
I just happen to be in the area and wanted to check out the situation as now there exists back to back repairs to my mower that did not exist when I dropped it off!
Owner was not present, repair person was, I inquired if the part was ordered , he told me he believed it was, I looked at the mower in garage, undid the rope, it sprang back as it should. Asked for the repair person to pull to start, started, I did the same.We picked up mower and I drove away never to return.
THE SHOP FALSIFED THE JOB, ROPE NOT BROKEN, THUS FRAUD!!! . TWO times fraud, the throttle rod, now the Rope being broken.

My interaction with Murphys Inc was truly one of the most astoundingly bad experiences I have ever has as a consumer. I brought my snowblower into this location in May of 2015, as it was an authorized repair location for my particular brand of snowblower (Green Works). Despite being within the warranty time frame, and the problem needing repair being caused by a failed part, they initially refused to service it. It was only after I called Green Works while standing in the shop lobby that Murphy’s agreed to fix it. Then, over the course of EIGHT months, it never got fixed. Each time I called, I was given a different excuse (“We don’t focus on snowblowers in the summer” – “The part isn’t in yet” – “there was a mix-up from Green Works” – “it should be ready next week”) – I never heard back from them to tell me it was fixed. It got to the point that when Green Works called Murphy’s on my behalf, they didn’t answer the phone. Green Works ended up replacing the unit and sent it to me directly. I don’t know what the deal is with Murphy’s Inc – it would appear they are either inept or corrupt, but in either case you would be wise to avoid them at all costs. Unless of course you like having your items never repaired.

These guys have gone downhill. Service was good in the past. This year my mower took nearly 3 weeks to get a new carb, my trimmer has been sitting for over 2 weeks for a new recoil. Evidently they didn't get my 2 phone messages telling them to order the part and do the work. The owner is nice enough, his son too. The mechanic is crusty, unfriendly and shouldn't answer the phone....ever. Time to move on and I would suggest you do the same.

Awesome service picked up my equipment as sceduled service and droped off , very good service and fast turn around





The mechanic (Jeff?) that works there has a real attitude problem. He's condescending and is just a very unpleasant person to deal with. He needs to learn how to treat people, especially when you're dealing with people all the time. If you can get past his attitude, I never had a problem with their service. I've had several different types of power equipment repaired/maintained there and am very satisfied with the work, other than this one person.

As far as Mr. Murphy, he's always a pleasure to deal with.

The service was unsurpassed. I was greeted before I even entered, had the piece I needed withing 1 minute. Couldn't believe how accomodating the owner was. He certainly had plenty of equipment in the shop so no time for small talk. I was in and out wuth a huge smile on my face within 2 mintes. Great place for your service.



Horrible service! Scheduled an...

Horrible service! Scheduled an appointment through the Home Depot Extended Warranty Program to have my ride-on lawn mower serviced by this company. After a missed appointment and several unreturned messages to Murphy's I called Home Depot to complain.

Even though every attempt I made to contact Murphy's Inc. resulted in getting their voicemail, Home Depot was somehow able to track them down. So instead of Murphy's contacting me directly and apologizing for the situation, they told Home Depot that because my mower wouldn't start that it probably wouldn't be covered anyway and besides it was too far for them too travel. Seriously?

First of all, how do you diagnose the problem without even looking at it? There are several parts that are under warranty that could cause a mower not to start. Plus wouldn't the majority of calls Murphy's receives for warranty work be for mowers that don't start? Do they just ignore those customers as well.

Secondly, why is my area listed as one of the areas Murphy's services if its too far to travel? or more importantly why wasn't this communicated to me or Home Depot when the appointment was scheduled. Instead they chose to string me along for days with a broken mower and force me take time off from work for an appointment that never happened.

Home Depot was extremely apologetic and seemed rather embarrassed for referring this company for warranty work and has since scheduled my repair with another local company. So perhaps its a blessing in disguise because if their repair work is anything like their customer service I would have been in big trouble.
