Brookhaven Cat Hospital

I’m writing this review to every cat owner...My cat was my baby and my heart! After seeing four different Vets, after he fell ill, I was completely dissatisfied! I found Brookhaven Cat Hospital on line. From the minute I walked in, I felt comfortable and welcome. When I met Dr. Nanton I was greeted with care patients and love for my cat, his professionalism and knowledge of cats is unsurpassed! Sue-Ann and staff are Angels! Unfortunately I lost my boy. There is no place else I would rather have been than there! God Bless You All. As soon as I’m up for another, there is no place else I would ever bring him! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

We brought our two cats in after finding worms in their litter. While the doctor was very professional, he has a huge focus on sales. In the time we were there, he tried to sell us pet insurance and very over priced flea collars at $100 a piece that are available at pet stores for $10-$15.



Upon our departure he said our total would be $430 which seemed awfully high to me. I asked for an itemized INVOICE so I can see where these charges came from. He assured me I would get one, he came back with an itemized RECEIPT showing that we were charged the full amount. Upon further inspection I found that we were charged a total of $180 for provender dewormer (3 med sized, 1 small)!!



If you look up this medicine at 1-800-Pet-Meds, it only cost !!! I asked to be refunded for the second treatment we were supposed to apply in 3 weeks and he then tried to charge me a restocking fee!



This place is a complete ripoff with meds and products with a doctor that is willing to take advantage of people who love their cats.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of our cat Clyde. You really spoiled him; giving him all that attention during his stay. For the first time since we rescued him over a year ago, he is happy and pain-free. He is recovering very nicely from the life-saving reconstructive surgery you performed and seems to be healing well. He looks healthier then when we first brought him to you!





Clyde had gone from being energetic and affectionate to almost listless and vicious, having been through constant exams and procedures at so many Veterinarians over the past year, his health was rapidly declining and he was continually prescribed antibiotics and pain killers. We had almost given up hope and really thought Clyde had reached the point where his only option was to be put down. How relieved we were when we stumbled upon Brookhaven Cat Hospital. We think it was a God send.





Your attention to detail in providing care to our pet was obvious through your thorough examination, fastidious, cat-friendly environment, not to mention the exceptional and compassionate customer service. Clyde, who had been suffering after a prior surgery at a different hospital, had not been able to even clean himself for some time. He looked as bad as he felt. But, he was meticulously tidied up by your hospital to look as shiny and new as if he'd just walked out of an upscale grooming salon. As a standard of care, you also took the initiative of evaluating his previous records and updating his vaccinations, which was greatly appreciated.





As a working family, you accommodated our schedules and we wish we would have found you earlier and sent our cats to you sooner.





We will set up Clyde's post-surgery appointment for a follow up exam very soon. And our other cats will be coming to you as well.

The assistant was helpful and patient. I've already recommended the cat hospital to some friends. We're very happy with the website it's easy and convenient. Its just another way communicating and seeing my cats lab results and history online.

I recently got ripped off after this so called doctor killed my cat after 2 days in his clinic and then tried to charge another $500! I'm shocked that this quack has a license to do business! I would never ever recommend him to anyone! they may be the worst animal doctor I have ever been too! btw he will tell you he is sympathetic, while he hands you another bill!

The Brookhaven cat hospital is awful, they overcharge for all the treatments & services. I was charged 3 times the amount for a blood test then at the emergency clinic! The wait time was awful, 45 minutes to see the doctor. The doctor couldn't even call me back the 2 times I called and waited for a call back regarding questions I had. My cat was handled too roughly, and nearly fell off the table when his cat carrier was placed unequally on the table. I would never go there again.

Courteous and professional all the time. I appreciate you guys calming me down as well as the cat.

The office is very professional. They are caring, compassionate and composed with my Tiger. I highly recommend this office, great doctors and staff.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the seven years you took care Elvis and Sammie. They stayed with you during my vacations as well as received all of their health care from you. Elvis now 16 years old and Sammie is 15. They are in great health and enjoy the temperate climate of our new home in East Setauket immensely. I am very lucky that they are still both with me. Elvis would not be alive if it was not for Dr. Thanks to you and your staff, Elvis survived two bouts with cancer. Please know how much you are all appreciated.

My 10 year old cat stopped eating, drinking, and using his litter box, so I needed to take him in but the vet don't open on the weekend. I decided to go to the hospital rather than wait the weekend out. My heart sank when the doctor told us that our baby would have to stay overnight with a IV and have x-rays. As we were leaving, the guy at the front desk told me that I could call, or come hang out anytime! My kitty ended up needing surgery. Every time we came in, they offered us chairs, and chatted with us while we were there. I learned so much from the doctor. He answered every single question very professionally. He even pulled out a couple of his veterinary books to show me some stuff.My kitty came home on Sat, and the doctor and I have been in touch everyday to track his progress. He is very dedicated to the animals that are in his care. He has 25 years of experience, and it shows! I also want to say that the staff is amazing, and so friendly.

My two cats were at each others backs all the time. For some reason it just seemed as if they didn't like each other. So I took them to Brookhaven because I had heard that they may be able to correct this problem. They do have a cat behavior therapy that they implemented with my fur balls and it must have worked because after 5 sessions I no longer hear the hissing and fighting and they have been seen playing together with their toys.

Friendly staff and vets. Reasonable prices. They didn't push unnecessary and expensive tests or treatments.When Max was sick, I called and asked a few questions, and they gave out free advice before taking him in. They do genuinely care about the kitties.

The staff was very attentive and caring! They kept me updated on everything that was going on and saved my cats life! I would recommend Brookhaven Cat Hospital to everyone!

Dr. Daniel is very compassionate vet who have a great staff. Highly recommended if looking for a Vet that will put your cat(s) above all.

I got to give it up to them, this is the best place to bring your cat here. All of the staff here is really nice. They answer all my questions that I need to know. They are very knowledgeable. Thank you guys so much.
