Traveling through the area and hit a nasty pothole completely disabling our vehicle. Ray was on the job early that morning and took exceptional care of us. A very kind and professional man; was flexible and accommodating on the charges and entire procedure, which included a tow all the way back to our home in Detroit and providing us one of his business vehicles to drive saving us the hassle of Ubering to Pittsburgh and one-way airfare tickets to Detroit.We were totally stranded in kind of a remote area we knew very little about. The damage to our vehicle was extensive and that was the last thing we expected. We also didn’t expect to meet such a nice man as Ray. What a blessing. Rice’s Towing were angels sent to help us out.

The staff at this location are incompetent and lazy to a degree I didn’t imagine possible. Because I used the self service method to check out and check in my truck and they weren’t familiar with the process, I ended up getting charged for six days of rental time rather than the ten hours I actually used the truck for. I was told by a U-Haul representative that because the staff didn’t know how to check the truck in, they just didn’t do it. I ended up with over $400 in charges because of their blatant negligence. Now, since I was ultimately refunded the money and compensated appropriately for the incredible inconvenience, I would still recommend U-Haul as a company. I would not, however, recommend this location or any branch run by whomever is in their regional office. After lodging a complaint and requesting that someone call me to explain what had happened and what was being done to rectify the situation, I did not hear from anyone. I had to call the customer service line AGAIN to demand a call back. When I did eventually hear back from Mike Mann, the area field manager, he was not adequately able to explain to me (1) Why the staff had done what they did (2) What he was doing to make sure it would not happen again and (3) Why he hadn’t reached out to me right after I lodged the original complaint. All in all, though he did refund my money, I was ultimately left feeling like I was inconveniencing him with my completely legitimate complaint. This location and it’s upper management team practice EXTREMELY POOR customer service. Trust me when I say that I WILL be telling my friends, family and basically anyone I encounter who may need moving services NEVER to patronize their establishment.
Towed my car,car was locked when towed,upon checking on car to try and pick it up,2 lug nuts missing off of car,4 aluminum rims missing out of locked trunk,car still locked when I got there-hmmmmmm? Who has access to a locked vehicle? Rims where there the day before and had been for months, coincidence? I think not. Will file police report etc.
Had a great experience. Got a flat out on 50 at 1 in the morning and they came and picked me up 20 minutes after I called. Price was extremely reasonable and tower was just an all around good guy. No one else in the area that claimed 24 hour emergency even picked up the phone. I'm not naming any names. If it weren't for BTAS I really don't know what I'd have probably spent the night on the side of the road.
