Founded in 1914, St. Mary School serves the educational needs of more than 700 students, and offers classes from grades prekindergarten through grade eight. The school s curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, math, science and technology, social studies, foreign languages, health education, English, religious studies, computer science, arts and crafts, instrumental and vocal music and physical education. It also provides various special education programs for students with special needs. The school has a parent-teacher association that organizes and participates in various school events. Located in East Islip, N.Y., St. Mary School is accredited by the Middle States Association for Colleges and Schools.
