This clinic has taken a terrible experience and made it 1000x worst.
I brought my dog to this clinic because it was the cheapest place to put her down. It was my first time. My dog passed July 20th. I told the vet and the nurse that I wanted her ashes back. She explained to me I had 90 days to pay for the ashes. The next month was my birthday and my brother wanted to bring my ashes home. To his horror the lady told him ashes wasn't there. That I never been there. So ruining the surprise my brother calls me explains what happens and tells me to call. I call and a Sarah picks up. She very rudely explain to me that I never been there and there is no dog. She even hangs up on my face. I call for the 3rd time and I cry to her I know what the clinic looks like even the vet lady that put my dog down. I remember all of them. So finally she listen to me and she starts looking. They had all my info wrong. Finally after locating my file she tells me my dog is still in the vet clinic. So my brother goes back and buys a 400 box to put the ashes in. But that night after all that mix up I thought was my dog really there? They had all my info wrong. I had to make sure. So I go to the vet clinic pleading to see her. Begging and pleading I finally got to see her. 1 week passed and I called to see if the ashes was ready. A man told me we will call you when they are. 2 more weeks pass and nothing. Finally a lady that works there hit me up on my Facebook. Told me that she's been trying to get a hold of me because my dog has been under her desk for a week.
So i go get her and come to see when I open the box it's not the right box. I don't know who is to blame here but east Hartford animal clinic needs to step up and admit they messed up big with my dog. I have never been through something so hurtful in my life.People might laugh at me because it was just a dog but she was my best friend my daughter my protector. I will never forget the pain these people put me through.
I have always gone to another animal hosptial in East Hartford, but their prices were waaay too high to get my kitten spayed, so a friend of mine recommended I try this place. I was a little leery because I've always brought my pets to the other hospital, but I decided to take a chance and I'm so happy I did! Their hospital is sparkling clean and the staff and doctor there are just great! They also have the cutest house cat they call marmalade. She even has her own facebook page and t-shirts! Hahahaha! (My husband and I really got a kick out of that!) I would highly recommend this place!
We called everywhere trying to find a place that offered a reasonable price to get our cat fixed. We came across the east hartford clinic's website and found out about their Stitch program. It was a great deal! The hospital was very clean. The staff and the doctor were great too. We even got a picture of Lara when we picked her up after her surgery!
No compassion what so ever from Dr. Barrios. I am sure that they see pet owners going through rough patches all the time, but some more respect is needed. Then I get a call after I have made the payment through direct debit, and I get a phone call stating they need me to come down to swipe my card again and that it hadn't worked while I was there, while I'm looking at the payment--that has been taken. They may be cheaper, but definitely are not worth your time.
Had an appt for 7:30am no one came to open the office until 8am. Got my dog neutered and once i got him home we was swelling a lot (by a lot I mean it got to the size of a cantaloupe). Called the 24 hour service 4 times before anyone called me back. Dr. Barrios said its no big deal at the beginning, but I kept on calling because it was continuing to grow. They told me to contact W Hartford Vet because they are associated, but when I called W Hartford they had no idea who Dr. Barrios from E Hartford vet was. So I took him to my normal 24 hour vet, Piper Memorial in Middletown. They took me right in and gave great care to my baby. So I paid EH Vet $200 for my puppy to be neutered and then $500 to Piper Memorial to have him admitted overnight because of complications. If I would have went to Piper from the beginning the second visit would have been free. I learned my lesson will not have surgery at a non-24 hour vet ever again. Not worth it.
