I saw this little shop and I thought the cakes they had looked amazing not to mention the different flavors they had. It had been years since I had a birthday cake with the candles and my name so I thought "Why not buy one here?" The cake was really good. Dark chocolate and Raspberry filling with a chocolate truffle icing what isn't there to love? When I ordered she let me have a few minutes to decide and answered all of my questions. I really didn't know what I wanted so I said "you have control" and she asked what I liked. I told her my favorite color was pink, I love hearts (Love is my middle name), and I was a huge fan of I Dream of Jeannie. The problems that I had was for the price it was very small ($15 for a 6-8") because I know I could go to Kroger and that size for at least half the price. And when I picked it up the design of the cake looked like something that I could do. There were little pink hearts around it and that was it. I was happy that they spelled my name right (it was something that I stressed), but I thought "look at all these amazing designs why couldn't they do this?". I haven't been back since but the cake was really good and I am willing to give them another try with a more specific idea in mind to see if they can execute it.
These desserts are to die for. They remind you of that good ole' cooking where nothing matters and everything just melts away. One taste and you're …
Delectable Desserts! The Cherbourg Bakery in Bexley advertises "gluten and nut free goodness" and "local ingredients." Somewhat skeptically, I thought, "Hmmmm... gluten and nut free. I'm not so sure," but when my wife and I tried four of their products, we were delightfully surprised. All were delicious! The bakery claims the double-lemon bars, lightly dusted with powdered sugar ($2.50) are their most popular item and I can see why. They are bursting with fresh lemon flavor. The seasonal pumpkin chocolate chip bars ($2.50) are also a special treat, especially for my fellow chocaholics. The madeline is a butter cookie baked in a special mold. The savory egg strata ($3.75) makes a filling breakfast treat. We loved ours, made with carameled onion, chevre, basil and sun-dried tomatoes, and I understand ingredients vary from day to day. The Cherbourg Bakery has a few outdoor tables. I strongly suggest you at least stop in to try the samples at the counter. I predict you'll leave with goodies in hand. Michael Armstrong Bexley, Ohio
This restaurant recently opened in Stoneridge Plaza and it is excellent. For those of you that remember Nikki's on Morse Road near 71 that was closed due to the plaza being torn down for an Office Depot, the same owners started this as the replacement to Nikki's. I have tried a lot of Greek in Columbus and love Nazereth Deli, Yanni's, Happy Greek, Mad Greek and Grapevine and I promise you it tops all of them. Also, if you can handle more at the end of the meal, their deserts are baked there. The Baklava is to die for! The service was just a little slow right now but I am sure they will work out the kinks as they just opened in July 2008. They are right next door to Cap City Diner. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
My friend's wedding cake was sooooo beautifully decorated and very elegant. The best thing was the taste...YUMMY!!!! I would recommend A Taste Of Cake to anyone needing a professional wedding cake or any all occasion cake.
This is really a good place to be in the morning, the smell alone is enough to pick you right up, and I just love the smell of good baking in the morning.
