I told the "stylist?" that I wanted box braids going back so I could make a ponytail. I only wanted my braids to be braided halfway. I even sent a picture of the style I wanted. I have not had this done in years therefore I depended on the stylist for her expertise and advice. I brought my own human hair. She charged me $173 to do my hair. The hair I brought was too short. She did not let me know instead she used the hair and tried to tie it to fit. Had she said something I would have returned the hair and got the correct hair and possibly had it done on another day. After 8 hours of sitting in the chair, the ponytail was very thin in the back and finally when I left the hair started coming out. The braids were also braided to the side instead of going back. When I got home I had to get my young child to place some hair in the middle and tie it around my braids to make it full. I will never return to this shop again. Also, when I sit in a chair as a client, I'm not interested in gossip. Word of advice. New clients - use caution!!!

Went in today and got a fabulous cut and style by Leah...She's very talented..She could suggest a style to flatter my face and the cut was very clean and well done.. I would highly recommend this salon.
If u want your money and time wasted this is the shop for you. 4 1/2 hours on 10 braids spent $120 and day two and my hair is coming out ..will never go back
My brother called ahead to see if they could fit him in for retwist and style (locs) they told him they could take him, his usual stylist was out so he went to someone else there, long story short he ended up with a stylist that was working on 2 other heads as well as his and a hack job hairdo (that I had to fix when he got home) I'm including pictures because I can't believe they let him leave the salon looking the way he did. He's had his hair done before and it's never turned out this jainky and unpolished.
I called on 6/27/16 to make an appointment to have my braids taken out. My appointment was set for 6p the same day. I informed the receptionist that I would more than likely arrive a little early. I arrived at 5:28p for my 6p appointment and to my surprise, the shop was dark/closed (although, they are not supposed to close until 8p). I called the listed number and the same person that I had spoken with answered the phone. I asked why she was closed and she responded "Well, I thought you were coming in early, so when we didn't see you we closed". After, I confirmed with her that my appointment was scheduled for 6p, she then replied "oh, well can you come tomorrow". HELL NO I cannot. I am completely dismayed. This has got to be the worst customer service EVER. I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone, because apparently, my $ and my time are not appreciated.
I had a class-mate that went there to get her hair braided and the stylist did not complete her hair. My class-mate took her home and gave her a tip on top of that. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
I used to go to Mavis. She is very rude and lacks customer service skills. I would never go to her again.
