The craftsmanship of your crews is superb. Their attention to detail is astounding. It’s the smallest details such as the trim under the treads of the stairs or the 45-degree miter on the deck posts that make a job look polished rather than just finished. The coffered ceiling in the kitchen, the beams in the great room and office, and all of the cabinetry work is absolutely beautiful. We get compliments each time someone comes to the house. We also appreciate the little things like Dan hanging the basketball hoop and placing a stop behind the refrigerator so it doesn’t go back too far.

A small project like a bathroom, kitchen, or deck update would be somewhere around 4 months from start to finish. Again, half of that time would be spent on design and planning. Updates in a bath or kitchen might include new flooring, updated plumbing, electrical fixtures, updated hardware, and painting. A deck would involve the demolition of an existing deck, framing of a new deck, adding new deck boards, and new railings.

In today’s world, the permitting process for new construction or any other kind of home improvement project can be time-consuming and confusing especially if you have not dealt with it before. Now the total cost of the project is $950,000. That same house is closer to $400 a square foot.

Well, it depends, it is hit or miss on any given product. Some products that consistently have longer lead times are garage doors which on average are 8-10 weeks out, plus 3-4 weeks for the springs. Windows are another one, they are a minimum of 12 weeks out, Marvin Windows is around 20 weeks out. Treks decking might have some or none just depending on the item at the time.

As I said earlier, Duluth is known for its cold temperatures. On average Duluth is colder than the Twins Cities, we get more snow and have a deeper frost line. In return, we typically spend more on insulation because of the frost line. This is something we focus on because frost can be extremely detrimental to a home’s foundation, we have seen this occur and do everything to prevent it from happening.
