- Dr. Richard E. Scheetz Jr. is originally from Boardman, Ohio, and in 1977 he received his Bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame in Preprofessional Studies. He completed dental school at The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1980 while simultaneously studying for a masters degree in Anatomy (completed in 1985).Dr. Scheetz is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. He is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association. Dr. Scheetz is a member of the local, state, regional, nationals and international Oral and Maxillofacial associations. He was recently voted Best Dentist in Central Ohio by his peers in Columbus Monthly magazine.Dr. Scheetz also serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University. He has lectured to dentists, nurses, dental and medical students, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and plastic and reconstructive surgeons nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, including oral and maxillofacial trauma, dental implants and facial reconstructive surgery.Dr. Scheetz performs the full scope of practice in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including the removal of teeth, surgical removal of wisdom teeth, dental implant reconstruction, facial and jaw reconstruction, select facial cosmetic surgery procedures, office sedation and general anesthesia. He is affiliated with Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center.Dr. Scheetz currently resides in Dublin with his wife, Cindy. Together they have five children: Erika (who is currently in dental school at OSU), Brita, Heidi and twin boys Ricky and Derek. Dr. Scheetz is also a proud grandfather to his two grandsons.

Provided by Doctor.comI had a pretty serious surgery and a tough and long recovery and I always felt comfortable and in good hands with Dr. Scheetz and his staff. They were nice and professional every single visit and were extremely helpful in my recovery. Overall, I'm very grateful for the staff and happy that I went through with the surgery. I feel better than ever!

Provided by Doctor.comDr. Scheetz is the most caring doctor that I have met. He took the time to make sure that my daughter (who is pregnant) was able to get teeth pulled and not have to wait until she gave birth. He was able to get a plan set up after receiving information from her OB. He did not treat her differently because she is a recovering addict either. He made sure there was a plan where she would not be on anything that would cause her to relapse. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone!

Provided by Doctor.comWhen I first discovered I needed corrective double jaw surgery, I was terrified about what that entailed. Now, at three months post-op, I know that going through with the surgery as well as using Dr. Scheetz was the best decision I ever could have made. The surgery and recovery both went incredibly smooth, and the constant support of him and his staff made this difficult time that much easier. I am so pleased with my results and in addition to my functional improvements, I now love my smile!

Provided by Doctor.comMy 6 year old daughter was treated by Dr. Scheetz after an accident at school while playing outside. One of her classmates ran into her she wears glasses and ended up with a small puncture wound by her left eye. The treatment was greatly appreciated and Dr. Scheetz provided outstanding care to my Little Diva!!!
