I recently called Microman for computer support after a negative experience with another support provider.
My call was transferred to a scheduling office and an appointment was made within minutes of placing the call. My technician, Eric, was right on time for the appointment. He was personable and professional without talking over my head with a lot of techno-speak. He understood my limited explanation and seemed very competent as he looked at my system. The problem was actually more serious than I had realized but he identified and resolved the matter in less than an hour.
This was by far the best tech support experience I have ever had with any product support. I have not purchased any computer equipment from Microman, but will from this point on. I have used several support providers in Columbus for both my home system and office network, but this is by far the most professional and personable service I have ever had.
I cannot rate them highly enough.
Recently our legacy Microsoft server crashed due to a hardware failure. Microman responded to a call on the weekend and had an knowledgable and friendly engineer onsite within two hours. The engineer was not able to repair our old outdated server, but Microman had a used box that was identical to our existing server. They were able to move our hard drives into the loaner server and had us up and running in just a short while.
I also asked to be connected to a sale representative and I was contacted immediately. It wasn't a typical pushy sales rep looking to move the "box of the day" but rather a knowledgable gentleman that was able to quickly determine what we had, what we needed and the best possible solution for the least amount of money.
I am quite satisfied with my service and new hardware from Microman. I was "down and out" on a Sunday afternoon but Microman exceeded my expectations and came through for me and my company!
Make sure you understand that they charge on a per man per hour service charge. Like in our case they sent 3 technicians out to work on our network. 2 of them seemed to be in training because all they did was stand around and do nothing. Yet when the bill arrived we were charged an hour for each of their time. So know that you will be billed even if the other technician isn't doing anything. Now we are with a company that charges a few more an hour, but they actually have all of their technicians working.
Also, make sure you check into training and education. After doing a search with Microsoft, we found there to be some discrepancy in what certifications they said they had vs. what they actually had.
Overall, not a good experience.
This is clearly a bogus review by a competitor -- we have never sent two trainees to a site in 21 years in business and we don't bill for a trainee's time.
