Best ever!! So much experience and caring and honesty. They are not ur typical one night stand! This is a vet to marry to ur pets!! They're awesome. Knowledgeable and their staff is sweet like sugar! Our babies love them; 2 chis, and they're relaxed when there. That says a lot. Ty for being my personal family vet and giving individual thoroughness every visit for even a wellness exam. The best is not having to see vet often; they maintain our furry family's health to a tee!
If you want your pet to have an exam that is handled professionally, compassionately, and thoroughly, don't hesitate to bring him/her to Dravosburg Vet. These vets are smart; they know their stuff !! They really, really care about your pet and even about your own anxiety over your pet's health. Over the 25+ years I have been patronizing this vet, my 9 cats who have purred their way in and out of my heart have been patients, and I have never had an unpleasant experience or one where I felt I needed to get a second opinion. When it came time for some of them to cross the Rainbow Bridge, the compassion shown me by the vets and staff touched my heart. Additionally their bills have been much more reasonable than they would be anywhere else (in comparing with friends who live in other areas of the city of Pittsburgh and use other services). The office is always immaculate; the staff work so well as a unit and lend to a cheery atmosphere. And for an additional plus, it's always fun to see what 4-legged creatures are napping on the floor and hanging off the shelves! For a special look-see, go and peek in on the 2 blind Doberman puppies the vets have adopted who are living a very loving and happily-ever after life there! What else can I say other than even the AAA gives this vet an A+ rating! I give them a A+++. Sylvia G.
I've always had the best care at DVH. I'm not sure how other reviews can say how expensive they are. I've been to several vets and DVH is by far the most affordable. BY FAR. They have always been kind and sympathetic. They have cried with me and calmed me down when I was assuming the worst. They have also been honest and referred me to specialists if they thought they would do a better job. I'm sad to see any bad reviews when I know these doctors love animals as much as their clients do. You can tell by all of their animals who come to work with them. It's a great office!
Not even worth one star! For lack of an appropriate rating I offer this warning in hopes of sparing another pet owner the pain my family has experienced at the hands of Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital! My brother-in-law just had to say goodbye to his beautiful dog... after 6 months of seeing her suffer from urinary tract infections and bladder stones. The poor dog was prescribed the wrong dog food (which btw caught on fire when he microwaved it as they suggested) and the wrong antibiotic. He tried week after week to tell them she wasn't getting better: He continued to ask for an effective treatment and they failed to respond with any level professional or even humane care. They repeatedly charged for the same food and the same antibiotic claiming it was the only option. The infection ultimately moved to her kidneys and was sadly fatal. I have seen this place overcharge, take advantage of elderly customers (namely my mother-in-law) and provide less than honorable services to family friends. However, after seeing the devastation my brother-in-law continues to experience, I feel compelled to warn pet owners considering Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital. They seem to forget pets are a part of our family. For some, the world revolves around their furry loved ones... but to this place they are nothing but a dollar. The loss my family is suffering from could have very well been prevented and that is not just an opinion based on broken hearts and wishful thinking. My brother-in-law took her to another vet and it was there he was told that she could have been saved prior to the infection moving to her kidneys.
My pet and I deserved so much better. As a loving pet owner for over 35 years who always had a great relationship with my former vet during those years, I truly regret switching to this practice when I moved. In addition to less than stellar care overall, they were completely uncompassionate during the final minutes of my babies life on God's Earth, making an already unbearable time even worse. They never even asked me if I was ready to say goodbye but rather walked in the room and immediately started shaving his leg to insert his euthanasia needle. I was devastated. I still am. And after his passing, the vet walked out of the room and I never saw her again, and the tech asked if I had arrangements for "the body." I would never leave my pet there and took my baby home with me. And I haven't received 1 phone call back after making multiple attempts to reach the vet after this awful experience. I was never impressed with the care he received before he was critical and sadly his health declined rapidly, before I could switch him back to my previous vet and their compassionate care. I love you my sweet baby boy. You deserved so much better. I know you were surrounded by love with me and are peacefully in the hands of Jesus. And I hope by sharing our awful experience, that I can save others from experiencing the same grief and disrespect that we suffered.

I must take the time to write this. My Lab was diagnosed with Lymphoma 12/13/10 by Dr. Mendlowitz. He immediately put him on the preferred treatment which did not work. We were fighting the clock since he only had around 8 weeks to live. I asked Dr. Mendolwitz to please help me, I couldn't lose my Banjo not this way not this fast. This extraordinary doctor and human being put an SOS out on the web for a different chemo treatment for my beloved Lab and he got a response. I am blessed to say it is April 1, 2011 and although it's be rough I still have my boy. His quality of life has been good, he is almost 11 years old and also a diabetic. Dr. Mendlowitz saved his life even if it's for a short time it is allowing me to accept the end and to enjoy and love him while we have him. I must also tell you that the fees were very afforable next to other Vets. I wouldn't even consider taking my boy to any other doctor. I will close this by saying, I wish that the staff of nurses in human hospitals had the compassion and knowledge that the medical techs have at Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital not to mention that Dr. Vesco is also an extraordinary doctor who is there as well. After my boy goes to heaven I could never live here but if I did and got another dog, this is the only Vet I would take him to because after 10 1/2 years I trust them completely. They care and are the best doctors in Pennsylvania. Thank you all at Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital for the care you have given Banjo.
I have been so impressed with the love and care Dr. Mendlowitz and his staff have given to the care of the animal's that he has seen. I wouldn't take my Doberman's anywhere else. The staff is just wonderful ! And so are all the Doctor's that we have seen there. The compassion that they have in there heart's for what they do is filled with so much love.
I would recommend them as an exceptional veterinary hospital. They are EXCELLENT in what they do....
I have been to many vet's thru the year's, and they are the BEST !
