After trying to get through for 2 days to the Draper location the call center tech finally gave me the direct line to the shop to get in for an appointment. He said they were not supposed to do that and not to tell. They still would not pick up, so I went down and with 3 guys sitting on their butts doing nothing they told me they were too busy to help me get my glass replaced. I finally asked if they could refer me to another location ( They did not suggest this I did ) and they said that Sandy store could get me in if I hurried over. That they had the part and an opening. In the exact words of the Sandy Store employees when I got there: " They were blowing you off just to get you to leave, they never checked or confirmed any appointment. " This store is a disaster. I own a business and would have fired these three Goof balls on the spot. Terrible customer service. Terrible at life by their appearance and attitude. Fail on all Fronts. Recommend ABRA AUTO GLASS. Got me handled same day.
My wife caught a rock last Thursday (Halloween) that chipped the windshield about halfway up the edge of the passenger side and started a crack for a few inches straight across the windshield. Overnight, and in the 2 hours or so while she had lunch and went to a movie with her daughter on Friday, she said the crack migrated another few inches. It was probably about a foot long when I saw it.I checked on line for companies and reviews. Techna Glass showed an on-line discount, so I left my information. They called me back in about 20 minutes and quoted the same as on line. When I said I was just starting my search, she told me she could drop the price a little lower, still, and, yes, they would be able to match my original windshield and that would still include their warranty, which includes 1-year breakage replacement and lifetime chip repair (see their Web site for details). I had her sign me up for an appointment the next morning, Saturday.I do have insurance, but with a 5-year-old car, the windshield was such a low price that it didn’t even reach my comprehensive deductible without the discounts, so I paid out of pocket for it and went shopping nearby for the hour or so that it took for them to finish the job.When I inspected their job, the only thing that didn’t look like the original windshield was that it had no chip and crack, and it had orange tape, a few inches square, near the two upper corners, that had to stay on there for 72 hours. On Tuesday afternoon, that tape came off cleanly with little effort and left everything looking like new, except for water marks left on the rest of the windshield from a short rainstorm we’d had in the meantime.We are keeping the original papers in the glove box in case we need to go back for chip repairs (for life) and such. I would have given five stars, but we’ve only had the windshield for a week and the warranty would get that fifth star after our needing to exercise it. I’d give everything else about my experience with Techna Glass five stars.
