If you have no issues to mediate; no children; no assets; a high threshold for unprofessional behavior including failure to respond to phone calls and emails; and find value in a "therapist" literally reading from a script rather than engaging, then Alpha is right for you.
The one positive thing we can say about Alpha is they did indeed bring us together: we fired them without hesitation after the first meeting of their "program."
Unfortunately, Alpha is charging us $4000 for the one two hour meeting with the script reading therapist. Ultimately, I am confident we will get at least a partial refund through small claims court but clearly, this is not where either of us wish to be spending our time and money right now.
I really regret using Alpha to mediate my divorce. It's difficult enough as it is. At our first meeting it was suggested the divorce could be complete in 5 months. It took 3 years. Not all of that is on Alpha, but once they have your money, they drop you like a stone. Meetings took months to schedule. More importantly, the mediator did not appear to be impartial: she advised my ex-wife and engaged in separate 1 on 1 communication with her. When I tried the same, she insisted everyone should be copied. She planned strategy and goals with my ex-wife, while it was all shielded from me. Terrible, unethical service in my opinion.
We had a terrible experience with Alpha Resource Center. Debbie Schneider our attorney was unprofessional and incompetent. We wasted a lot of time and money trying to use this service. The President of the company Kelia Gilbert was no help and would not return phone calls. I would never suggest this company to anyone. It was a horrible experience.
The whole process was WAY more complicated than it needed to be. They were incompetent and made A LOT of mistakes. They took our money and then closed out our case without completing it or returning phone calls. It was a waste of time and money. Buyer Beware.....
I agree with James' feedback. Our mediater was Debbie Schneider, not sure if they are all bad. What we understood before we paid money was very different than the services we received. It was pulling teeth to get meetings scheduled and a separation agreement. The process was supposed to be quick and easy yet dragged out for months with no end in sight. It costs us $5k and delayed our divorce process months which only made our relationship worse.
