I went on a Californian adventure in November and visited many different places but this little hotel was by far my favourite out the lot!Ok so when we arrived in LA we had a rental car and this hotel does not charge to park. There are limited spaces outside the hotel but they have a basement parking area that had more spaces and we always managed to get one. Just make sure if you park below you have someone out to spot your roof as some area dip down low and may not be suitable for a larger vehicle. When we arrived we got checked in and our room was on the upper floor. I was very happy with our room. The bed was massive and so comfortable. The room was very spacious and had big comfortable seats with feet rests to chill out on. The TV was great and had loads and loads of channels to watch on it. There was also a fridge in the room which came in handy for storing water etc. there was a massive cupboard big enough to keep the cases out the way and clothes. A sink area with a big mirror outside the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and although the bath looked tiny it was actually such a great little bath to use.Across the road from the hotel was this amazing little Mexican food stall. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing! There was also a large shop where you could get drinks and snacks. There was a launderette across the road as well which I actually used as I was running out of clothes. It was not expensive at all and nice to sit in and the music was brilliant!Hollywood Blvd is a 5 minute walk up the way and very easy to get to. Sunset Blvd was just a couple of minutes down the way as well. You could get access to a main train line on Hollywood Blvd as well to go to different places so the hotel was in a perfect location. The staff were always really friendly as well and although there was no safe in the room there were safety deposit boxes at reception that you were given a key for and access to when required. For driving to Anaheim for Ice Hockey and Disneyland you are a 5 minute drive to the freeway as well. And when we arrived in LA it didn't take long to locate the hotel either.I am going back to LA in 2018 and will be booking back up at this hotel.Stayed November 2016, traveled with friends
Very nice place in down town LA. Very classic old school architecture and seen in many movies. We stayed in a suite for our wedding night and it was…
I stayed here recently as it was close to an event I had to attend and a friend of mine was a member. Staff is friendly, location is great and the …
I chose the Quality Inn because of it's location. I wanted something close to the Catalina Jazz Club and Hollywood Walk of Fame. While there were other accommodations in that same general area I decided on the Quality Inn after reading many reviews. I arrived in Hollywood a little earlier than expected and the staff was nice enough to let me check in early. The room was large, clean and equipped with a tv, coffee maker, refrigerator and internet capabilities. I did not use any of these other than the fridge for some bottled water. There was also a spacious closet with an iron and ironing board. They provided shampoo, soap and lotion as well. I was thrilled to see they also had a hairdryer in the room. Unfortunately that always is not the case in some hotels. For their guests they also provide a free continental breakfast. However I had already made breakfast plans so I did not use this service. There was an ample amount of towels and the shower was wonderful. The bed was fantastic. Not too firm or soft but just right. It was actually more comfortable than my bed at home. The room was located on the first floor facing the courtyard but near the street. It was very quiet and I was not bothered by any noise. The Inn is located on North LaBrea and within a few blocks away from the Walk of Fame and the Catalina club. There is basically anything you could ever want or need in that area. There were at least three mini strip malls within a block or so away from the hotel in addition to many eateries, a 711, a Rite Aid etc... The location is awesome. You are also very close to public transportation whether it be a bus or metro train. The manager was friendly and very helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze. I will definitely be staying there again and highly recommend it to other travelers.
Visiting from Ireland, I stayed for four nights with my wife and teenage son, and one extra night on my own. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere warm. A simple but quite generous breakfast buffet was included in the price, and the location is very convenient to stores and restaurants. Parking was no problem. We thought that it was a real find, especially at the price, and we were very comfortable. It was clean. As in many hotels, phone rates were VERY expensive but you can buy international call cards locally and use them for the price of a local call. The small central pool was pleasant, and the pool area tidy. Some noisy guests who persisted in using the pool in the middle of the night were kicked out of the hotel by management. The TV could do with more channels. The hotel is just around the corner from Hollywood Boulevard (with station for train to downtown), and within walking distance of the Hollywood Bowl (highly recommended, we would bring wine and a picnic next time as the locals do). I doubt if you would find a better hotel in LA at the price, and suspect that you could pay a lot more for much worse. That was our experience. It may not be yours! Just do not expect very fancy. If you want fancy then pay a lot more somewhere else. We prefer staying somewhere lively and real instead of out by the airport or in a strip of glass tower hotels. We took a day-long "LA Sightseeing" bus tour of the city and movie stars homes (----, at about $24 each) which collected from the hotel and was well-worth the price. It seemed preferable to a studio tour, as these are basically theme parks rather than real studios. But DO allow a day (10.45 to 19.00 for the collection and trip, not the six hours scheduled).
We had the wheelchair access room for 2 adults and one child. When we arrived there was a bit of misunderstanding about how many beds we needed, and the room had been made up with just one king size bed. Jorge was quick to bring an extra bed and bedding in and while this made the large room quite tight space-wise, it was fine to accommodate our family for 2 nights. The bathroom was fine access-wise for our disabled family member. The breakfast was a hit with our 12 year old son, who loved the choice of muffins, waffles, cereals and toast for breakfast each day! The breakfast room is small so we took breakfast back to our room to eat which wasn't a problem as we were only 2 doors away on the same corridor.Wheelchair access to our floor was via an open lift outside in the pool area. This was fine for the time we were there as it was 35 degrees every day, but could be a little inconvenient if it was raining. But it's great that there is lift access! They also have a hoist to lift disabled guests into and out of the pool which is a great bonus! The front desk staff were really friendly and super helpful with booking our hollywood tour and shuttle back to the airport. We could leave our bags at reception on our last day after we checked out, and came back to use the pool later that afternoon before our shuttle back to the airport at 5pm. Towels were provided by the pool for guest use.Location is great, staff are great, rooms fine - the only complaint we had was the air conditioning unit was very noisy but other than that, no problems at all. Some have said the area is a bit sketchy, but we had no problems, and there were families walking around at 9.30pm with no worries.
What a wonderful hotel right ion the edge of the action !!his is a hotel I would thoroughly suggest you use if you would like to be only a 2 minute walk from The Walk of Fame on Hollywoo0d Blvd ( you can view the Hollywood sign from there). This is a clean and fairly modern hotel in a courtyard shape with a swimming poll and lounging area utilizing the courtyard. The staff are very helpful and polite and happy to point out places of interest and book tours of the rich and famous. Breakfast is included and each room has WiFi and a fridge (nice to store any wine or beer you may wish to purchase from the store just across the street). Loads of nice restaurants in walking distance including a Hawaiian BBQ and Russian restaurant on the same street as the hotel. For a real treat try Musso and Franks just down from the Grauman Chinese Theater. Been there since 1919 and has entertained almost every star in the last 100 years (Chaplain had his own table there) Big Prime Rib was $37.00 but it was worth it just for the experience and sitting there you would swear it was the 1940's. On the other side of the street is The Pig and Whistle where I had the best Chicken Piccata I have every had. One last point. Over the road from the hotel is a little club called The Woods. After you have park the car (free under ground parking) it would be well worth a visit for a nightcap before you turn in. There is not enough good things I can say about this hotel which I would have loved to have spent another weeks stay in.Good deal @$126.00 per night.
I stayed at this Quality Inn for 1 night. Wednesday, April 1st 2015. I stopped by early afternoon to park my rental car and visit the Hollywood and Highland area. It really is not that far away by walking. And when the traffic is as heavy as it was, walking there is probably quicker. I arrived and did not notice the driveway at the front door off of La Brea. So I went around the corner on Lanewood Ave and parked in a spot that ended up facing my hotel room door. Check in was fast and I had my room key in no time. The room key doubles as the swipe card for the underground parking entrance gate. Located on Lanewood Ave. The underground parking area can be a bit tight if you had a larger vehicle. I had a small rental car and it was very manageable. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had a king bed that was very comfortable and the pillow was above average for my comfort. The shower was clean and worked well. And the bathroom sink and counter area was clean. The tv worked fine. Wifi worked fine too. The room had a microwave and mini fridge. The traffic noise could be a bit bothersome to some, but I managed quite well wearing ear plugs. I felt secure enough in my room after seeing the locked gates and doors around the facility. I was quite comfortable. I did not use the pool or take advantage of the breakfast. The price I paid was very fair. If the price was right again on a future visit, I would certainly stay here again.
Chose this Hotel after driving round just looking. If you are looking for the Ritz this place is not for you but believe me I have stayed in many Budget Hotels (and some good ones) in America and the first thing I look for is the cleanliness of the beds and linen. It passed the test. Whilst the rooms are average everything worked and the shower was great. The Hotel is quite dated and the building old and a bit shabby but it was quite acceptable and very centrally located if you want to walk to the Walk of Fame etc. I am quite old now but did not find it a hard walk at all. Its quite close - maybe 10 minutes at a slow pace. There are lots of restaurants and some shopping nearby and it is quite nicely situated. The breakfast is basic of course but more than adequate - just the usual like cereal toast fruit waffles and danish with juice tea and coffee but perfectly OK. What made our stay enjoyable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the man at the reception - his name was something like Maya (maybe). Anyway he was very amiable and willing to please us and often enquired if we had everything we needed. He even arranged a late checkout at a reasonable cost for us on the night of our flight back to Australia. All in all a pleasant experience.
We stayed here for 5 nights and was very happy with my experience. Breaking down my points:- safety and Family friendliness was a huge concern of mine, and this hotel soothed my concerns. It's very safe, no concerns about partying or shady customers. Actually most customers were also families.- awesome location within 15 minutes walk to hollywood's attractions. Also we had everything we needed very close by, laundry, 7/11, great food truck and In and out burger.- room was renovated, looks different from online pics. Clean, no issues with bed bugs, and was very well maintained daily. We were 4 people and never needed any extra towels. Room had Iron, microwave, fridge and TV. Blowdryer was not working properly.- free breakfast: could be improved just a little bit, I suggest cream cheese and bagels. But otherwise it was en extra bonus, breakfast area was small but clean. There was one staff there, but she single handedly restocked everything, helped customers make their waffles snd made small talk.
Great basic hotel! Nothing fancy but we weren't needing much. The room was clean, bed was comfy and shower was hot. Location was excellent for walking - to 2 blocks to Hollywood Blvd, 1 block to Sunset. There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance also. The taco truck across the street from the hotel on LaBrea was awesome!!! We felt very safe walking everywhere in the area with our children, although we were not out at night. The underground parking garage was a worry-free place to keep our rental car. It is tight parking though, not for big vehicles or SUV's, I recommend renting a small or mid-size car. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning, cereal, waffles, boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, coffee, danishes. It was set up nicely and well stocked every day. The pool was very small and wasn't the cleanest but it was too cold in March for us to swim so we didn't use it. Hotel is older, could use an update but was very safe and clean! We would definitely stay here again!!
I spent 3 nights here mid November with my son. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the main attractions on Hollywood Blvd. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were most fortunate that we were able to check into our room early. This was a great relief and much appreciated after the 15hr flight from AUS. The hotel and rooms are clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and facilities adequate. I concur with other review which state the decor is a little dated but I don't see this as a deal breaker. You don't travel 15000 km to sit in your hotel room all day. The pool deck paint scheme is however 'interesting'. The breakfast on offer is more than adequate to get your day started I've also stayed in the nearby Hollywood Orchid Suites albeit in a self contained room. I would not hesitate to recommend the Quality Inn to any traveler looking for comfortable accommodation conveniently located near the walk of fame and surrounds.
