The restaurant inside Severance Hall is now known as Sammy's. Apparently, since it caters to a crowd that arrives an hour or two before each orchestra performance, (all at once) the all-inclusive buffet format is logical. The buffet is $40 and includes an appetizer, salad, several entree items, as well as coffee and GOOD desserts. This past week was my 2nd time dining there and the service staff is good, the atmosphere is nice and I liked that my aunt (a vegetarian) was even satisfied with the food options. The only downsides are that customer traffic is moving past your table to and from the buffet alot and there was only (1) appetizer offering on my last visit, a creamy seafood soup, which I typically don't eat on my new diet. (it looked good though!)
Like walking back in time to the 1940s or 1950s, it's sort of like a hipster-Mitchell's Ice Cream. Definitely a cool place to satisfy your sweet tooth with your sweetie! MUCH better than the one they installed at Progressive Field, where the line is too long, the prices are inflated, and the selections are minimal. At THIS location, you at least get better ambiance. The ice cream is divine, though they do have old-time candy and some interesting sandwich selections, like their PB&J. I'm always a sucker for their coffee ice cream or salted-caramel ice cream but will have to try their malts the next time we go.
Melt Bar & Grilled is definitely one of my favorite Cleveland restaurants. All of the different sandwiches are incredibly unique while still somehow being a grilled cheese sandwich. While many people have said that Melt has long wait times, this is no longer the case. I went on a Friday night, was able to get a table without waiting and got my food right away. Good things are worth waiting for so anyone who has complained in the past are just a bunch of whiners. Melt is great!
Disappointed in the food. For such an expensive place, the food I ordered was not up to par -- the chicken dish tasted like old chicken thighs. My wife's food, on the other hand, was better. She ordered corn chowder (excellent) and a steak (good). I did like the unique atmosphere of the old converted bank, but overall this was very disappointing. Go to Luxe instead.
The food is on par with any restaurant we have visited in the United States. The wine list well thought and priced accordingly. Selections by the glass are beyond the quality of most restaurants in this region. The service is elegantly casual enough not to be pretentious yet very caring with attention to details that matter.
Have eaten their twice and overall rating is B to a B+. Service is often awkward and slow. Prices are above-average to high. Atmosphere is fairly nice. Food quality was pretty good. It is one of those places where I would return, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
FANTASTIC!! Had a wonderful time at Christmas party for work! Good servers, went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied and our dinner and appetizers were amazing.. great atmosphere. Will be going back for our anniversary dinner!!!
Food wasn't that great, poor quantity, service sucked and didnt enjoy hearing the employees bi*ch about their daily lives while I was trying to enjoy my nasty breakfast.... Dont go here. Management is also a joke.
Enjoyed lunch yesterday, everything was great. First time there, had Tuscan burger w/ onion rings, excellent! Place was clean, staff was polite. Would return if in neighborhood.
Great venue but loud. Calamari and entrees excellent although ravioli too crispy on the bottom. Excellent service. Great bar and valet. Very enjoyable night.
