For a few years, I shied away from joining. Glad I did because this is a great location. Membership is offered through my job as a perk, so sign up was easy, no pressure because I didn't have to deal directly with the staff. The staff is helpful, there are ample machines. I would like to see more class offerings at different times. At times, though, there are issues with the mic system during classes and air conditioning. They have the Kids Klub, which allows parents to have a place for their kids while they work out. Would love to see them get the kids active during this time though instead of having a television in the area. Overall, I've enjoyed my membership.

The newer location is smaller and the $40 that the gym charges for the "upkeep of the gym," is not put forth into actually fixing the equipment, or maintaining the equipment. For new individuals to the gym scene, whenever a gym tells you that they have a "maintenance fee," it's a fraud. All you have to do is look at the shape of the equipment. Are there rips in the padding? Are some machines missing pins? Are machines functioning properly? Are there a correct number of dumbells (two of each weight)? Do the treadmills have problems with them (signs posted on that say "speed problems," "fans do not work" "belt slowing or not functioning," etc) If so, how long have they been sitting there unattended to? Ask around. I bet you'll find over 80% of the questions I brought forth above to be true. Just glance around as you take a tour of the gym and you will notice instantly, if the extra money you're paying for is put into the equipment or just being pocketed. My suggestion is to find another gym that does not charge these fees, because they are most often pocketed by the owner of the gym, just to receive more money out of you. "Maintenance fee's" are actually one of the biggest scams in the fitness industry. Just thought I'd let whoever may be reading this helpful before you consider this gym. I've been lifting weights since I was 18 years of age and am now 30. I know my way around a gym and what goes on behind the scenes. This gym also posts "threatening signs" that go after the customers for them treating the equipment bad, and if caught, you will have your membership revoked. Any complaints that you have will most of the time, be unanswered of just ignored. Hope you find this review helpful.
This is the worst gym I have ever gone to. The treadmills are always broken, and never being fixed. They also moved from a very open space. The new gym has no room and equipment is old and junky.
I just called to inquire about scheduling a tour and the 3 day pass. Before I begin, the phone rang a million times before someone finally picked up. The man had a horrible attitude and was acting as if I was destroying his day. I asked if a tour would take away from my 3 day pass and he said "Yea" in this rude condescending way as to imply that I should've already known this. First of all, why would a tour of the gym take away from a 3 day pass to use the gym? Secondly, his attitude was completely unnecessary and if this is who you have answering the phones to represent your business, then be prepared to lose out on customers. I just moved here and was interested in trying out various gyms before calling one home and LA FITNESS of Douglasville, GA will NOT be receiving my business. I only gave it 1 star b/c I couldn't leave it at 0.
I have been a member for almost a year now. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. The managers are always available for questions or to help. They are very responsive to concerns about repairs needed on equipment. Kids club staff is great. The only improvements I would like to see are being on time to open both the facility and kids club. They have been a few minutes late a few times...but other than that, it is a great value! Great place for the whole family to work out!
Do not go near this place. High pressure sales. Non-usable cardio equipment. Phone number does not work. Started an account with them on line so I could fill out the Cancelation form I got a red lettered message that said " Cancelation is available for monthly dues, fitness and training members only at this time. Please contact your local club". guess what phone number listed in phone book and on-line and website does not work, the message says your call can not be made at this time. So I called another club same message, third club answered and hung up on me, fourth club same message as first two. When back to my acct. and clicked on contact us I get a page that has four boxes top right says Operation Manager enter your zip code, I did and all I got was the hours. bottom right box had some information on how to cancel your membership you can write to a PO BOX and send it certified. Your can also hand it over in person to the Operation Manager at your local club.Back to my account to see who is the Operational Manager the only names listed were Club Managers not "Operational Manager" at this point I'm thinking ok if I go in to my local club to hand in a written cancelation notice I bet they will tell me the Club Managers are not the Operational Manager and he is not available. Technicly I wouldn't even give this club a star for providing any customer service what so ever. I would give them stars for thier conartistry though. My next move will be to visit in person. So went in at 8pm and saw the guy who said he was the regional manager when we signed up. The girl at counter was telling us that she could print out a cancelation form and we could return it the following day. The website said I could give a written cancelation she would not accept it. Regional Manager came over and I told him I called the number all day and with no luck. He said I had the wrong number when I got home I looked it up on yellow pages same number I called all day.He signed our written notice for cancelation and took our cards. and said don't send the letter to the main PO Box. We paid for first and last months dues meaning we have at leat until Jan. 10th to use the club, however since they took our cards not sure we can use it. I know they won't do a refund they are to money oriented for that.
