Absolutely No! Bugs and Mites in the white sesame!! (Visible with naked eye!)
I have shopped at this store many time in the past. The owner is unfriendly, but I found spices I need without paying arm and legs at the grocery store.
I just bought a bag of white sesame there. The bag was wrongly priced by the store, and the owner spoke to me as if I have peel the price tag and replaced with cheaper one, although there were two more bags with cheaper price sticker.
Well, it that is all, I would not write and post a nasty review here. As I was on the way home, I glanced the bag of white sesame I just bought. Gross!!! I saw a stringy thing like you see when the mites get in the flour.
At close inspection, there are tiny holes on the clear plastic bag, and there are countless bugs crawling in it. I u-turned right away and went back to the store. I showed the bag to the owner and told him there are bugs in the sesame. I inspected other bag closely, and found one without evidence of bugs and two other with mites in them . (The one without the evidence of mites were different brand and packaging that the other with mites.) I took a good bag to the cashier, and now he had a nerve to tell me that it would be $4.99 instead of $2.99 as it was on the price tag.
Anyway, the mites were in the sesame in the plastic bag with holes. Well, please consider this fact carefully! If the mites are in the merchandise in the supposedly sealed plastic bags, how about the flour and rice they have on the shelves which are in the paper bag packages? The mites can migrate easily. I would not take a chance!!!! I hope some one read this before you spend any money in the store!!!

Walked in and was greeted very nicely! I am from the Virgin Islands and Indus Food has all my go to seasonings and even medicines I can't find at American stores. The owner along with his wife was very helpful in helping me find different merchandise. Also they have a delicious restaurant located in the store all food is prepared fresh ! Definitely a store I will be visiting again !!
