I would give this No stars if that was an option.

I was there June 6 2014 to wash several loads of clothing, my home washer is awaiting parts. I had to clean 2 of the four machines I used, as individuals before me had washed linty clothing and rugs. There were no paper towels or toilet paper in the restroom to use, thankfully someone had left an advertising section of the local paper and I wadded some of the pages up and swabbed out the washers as best as possible given that the newspaper was shredding after it was dampened.

I also used one of the facility's triple loaders which cost $4. per load. I put in all my money and it wouldn't start, the display showed $0 even though as I was inserting the quarters the total left to insert went down in 25 cent increments as seems to be the way of current coin-op washing machines. (It used to be that you stacked your coins and shoved them all in at once.) This is a problem as there is no one ever on duty even though the facility is open all hours and days. (About 10 years ago this business did have an attendant on duty for limited hours during the weekdays and Saturdays.) So I called the "emergency" number and left a message on the voice mail, which said it was the management company for the facility. No one ever called me back, emailed me or sent me a refund (I provided phone, email and snail mail information, slowly and clearly.)

This facility was not very well cleaned and dreary, the laundry carts are not repaired and there are some loose or protruding parts which could injure small children.

In addition, several washers were marked "out of order" for several visits in a row covering three weeks.

I normally use my clothesline to dry my clothing but this winter, as my dryer was not fully operational (the vent was accidentally uncoupled), I ended up taking several loads to Dolly's to dry. (My washer was working then.) I had seen the poor condition of the facility (cleaning especially seems neglected over the long term) and over the two month period this winter (2014) when I used their dryers, I noticed that several of the dryers were marked out of order and stayed that way.

One day, while on an errand with the wet clothing in my trunk I spied another laundromat and took my clothing in, at the George's Cleaners Laundromat on Gettysburg Road in Camp Hill (near Slate Hill Road). I noticed that this business was much better maintained and cleaned, and in addition, instead of getting 5 minutes for your 25 cents to dry your clothing, you received 7 minutes. That is a CONSIDERABLE (40%) difference. And today (June 2014) I went back to wash my clothing to take back and put on my clothesline. The washing machines and facility were cleaner, and the prices were identical. The main difference was the distance. But it was worth it to me.

After my bad experience this past winter, I don't know why I went back to Dolly's in Dillsburg, when my washer went on the fritz, other than the facility is closer to my home, but I won't be returning. It's worth the extra 7 minutes in my car to patronize a business which obviously cares about the customer's experience.
