Gay Buick GMC
3033 Gulf Fwy, Dickinson, TX 77539
'Family Owned and Operated Since 1948'
Carl Gay and his wife, Marie, started selling cars more than 62 years ago in 1948. The dealership's first location was in Dickinson on Highway 3, which at that time was the major route between Houston and Galveston. Seventeen years later, after giving the much larger dealers in Houston a run for their money, Gay Pontiac relocated. In 1965 Gay Pontiac GMC opened what was to be the first dealership on the Gulf Freeway. Along with the move came the much needed lot space that made Gay Pontiac one of the largest Pontiac dealers in the nation. Over the years many dealers have grown and expanded to multiple locations. Gay Pontiac Buick & GMC has indeed grown, but Carl Gay felt that by expanding he would lose touch with the customer. That's why whenever you come to Gay Pontiac Buick & GMC there is always someone from the Gay family to talk with you. Carl Gay was the innovator of the one price selling concept. For the last half century, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, Gay Pontiac Buick & GMC has put the low discount price on the windshield of every vehicle in stock. Eighty percent of our business is repeat business and referred customers. Carl was quick to point out that the dedication and longevity of his employees and his wife, Marie, is the major factor in the half a century of his success in the automobile business. Pontiac's most prestigious award is the "Master" Dealer award. Gay Buick GMC is one of only five dealers in the nation to receive this award 25 years straight.

I took a car in an '05 Cobalt with sputtering motor issues. After 2 days of just sitting there, I finally get a call back that "there is low compression in #4 cylinder", and that they want permission to tear into the middle of the motor and start analzying. I told them 'no', and I picked up my car and took it to Taylor Automotive in Dickinson. Long story, short: it was the Coil Packs, there NEVER was low compression. Gay was either completely incompetent or crooked. I now realize Gay was setting me up to try to sell me a brand new motor. I will never go to Gay again, and am telling everyone who will listen to me to avoid Gay at all costs. This was actually the THIRD bad experience in a row I've had with Gay. 3 strikes, and I'm done with them. I've bought 3 cars from them and have used their service department for over 30 years, but I am DONE with them. Taylor Automotive is MUCH better, very professional, cheaper, and fast....AND they don't let your car sit around for several days before they even look at it.
Dropped my suv off on a Friday morning for a couple of things and told them I needed it by the following Wednesday. They said no problem. They called back that Friday and said it would take longer so I told them I needed a loaner vehicle. They said they couldn't get me one till Saturday. Someone called Saturday and said the vehicle was ready so I went there and nothing was ready! They didn't even know who called and said they didn't have any loaner cars available. Well today is Wednesday and I still haven't heard anything about my SUV so I called and they said I could have a loaner and still would beat around the bush when I asked when my SUV would be ready! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
Awesome dealership! I came in a few times looking for a new GMC truck. The salesman was very friendly and remembered my name every time I came by. After I bought the truck the service has been very good. Their service staff have been very helpful and friendly. I would recommend Gay GMC to anyone looking for a new GMC truck.

Great experience with this place. I was looking around one Saturday and wanted to see the new GMC trucks. The sales person was very nice and helped me find one I really liked. I fell in love with it and couldn't resist taking it home! I would really recommend this dealer to any of my family and friends. They are very friendly and I got a great deal.

I had a HORRIBLE experience here after purchasing my vehicle in the 'used' car section. The actual sale and vehicle are fine but dealing witih the Sales Manager, NINO, was an awful experience. He lied to me on 3 different occasions (on things that I have no idea why he'd lie...like how many miles I put on the car after purchasing).
I went to the General Manager with my complaint and I don't think he cared at all. Took them around 15 minutes to find my paperwork (that I never received after the sale was complete). I left a message with the General Manager yesterday with a quesiton on my paperwork and what a surprise, I never received a call back.
Also the service center was replcing my coolant hose since it was bad when I purchased the vehicle and upon pick up no one talked to me, I received no paperwork of service. I brought the vehicle to my mechanic for some other service and he couldn't find where they replaced anything!
HORRIBLE service! I will NEVER go back there again!!

The only special thing about this dealership was my car. Other than that, the manager was rude and I will NOT be going back there. Once they have your money, they refuse to be of any assistance. Hide behind their legal paperwork and mumbo jumbo rather than even compromising on a legitimate problem! WILL NEVER RETURN!
