We visited Texas de Brazil for my birthday. At first glance It's a very pretty restaurant. First problem was when we went to get the salad bar the first plate had a giant chip on it. This should have never made it to the floor. Then when delivering our drinks the waitress managed to spill an entire glass down on our table and all over me. She apologized, but nothing from management. The floor was left damp and slippery, a bad plan with gentlemen with large knives walking around. We never saw 6 of the meat options, even after specifically requesting a few. I spoke with a manager and he didn't seem concerned. I called the next day and spoke with another manager and again, no concern. The food was good, but terrible costumer service and no attention to detail will prevent us from ever returning. I would not recommend.
I love this place! This place should be on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The atmosphere, people, & the food is exceptional. I just hope that they never leave the city of Detroit. Capers should be called "The Carls Chop House of the 21st century.
Awesome Place! Try the Hypnotic Kiss- my favorite drink! Service is incredible. Food and drinks are even better. You have to try it!
This past weekend we were Downtown and were looking for a great stake house, decided to try London Chop House for the first time, I didn't think much of it but it did have great reviews. When we got there I really liked the place, didn't feel like I was Downtown Detroit but more like Manhattan NY. All I can tell you is that there was 6 people in are party and everyone of us loved everything about it, service was great, food was excellent. I used to be a fan of Ruth Chris but this place is my new steak house. Would definitely recommend to everyone.
I went there for happy hour; we sat at the bar. The food was great however the bartender was not friendly. I did receive great service from the bar back. I will return but I will make sure not to get that unfriendly bartender.
I had a horrible experience last time i went. There was a screw in the au graten potatoes. I bit into it and could not believe it. Such a nice place so i calmly told the waitress and she got the manager. When the manager came over I explained to him what had happened. So we decided to walk over to the Shaffer dish that the potatoes were in and sure enough we realized that one of the screws had fallen off that keeps the handle in place. Not a big deal as we found out where it came from and he apologized. Here is where it gets bad, he made us stay for almost an hour after so he could write an incident report and then gives us the bill. I asked if mine was going to be comped but he said its a corporate thing and i still had to pay for my meal. I did not even finish eating after that. I called their corporate office before i put anything online but they also did not do anything. Said they would give me 2 free dinners and mail them to me. I waited over a month for these so called "free vouchers" never received anything. I called again and left them a message but never received a call back about it. So if you go the food is good but remember if you find anything with your food they will not do anything for you. So pray you have a good experience cause their customer service is crap. Its not like i was asking for my wife's meal to be comped just mine at least but they don't care. My wife had to get back to work so she paid even though i told her not to and left a tip since she knows it was not the waitress fault. Its just ridiculous that this place can charge so much for a meal and then not be able to do anything.
I just ate at Capers for the very first time and boy was I delighted! My husband and some of my friends have told me about this place for years and I always thought they were exaggerating. They were NOT! You pick your steak (New York Strip, Delmonico (ribeye), T-bone, or filet by the ounce, the potatoes are stuffed with a selection of broccoli, cheddar cheese, bacon, steak, sour cream and they are HUUUGE! We went at about 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated and served right away. They say it can get real crowded and the place only seats about 50 people. The decor reminds me of a south side bar in Chicago---small, but clean, dimly lit with small square dining tables, no table cloths. Several big screens throughout, a nice sized bar, and very friendly wait staff. If you like steak, forget about the chain steakhouses and go to Capers----check out the pictures of the dessert. Oh yeah, my husband and I both got delicious, 12 oz Delmonico steaks cooked to perfection, dinner salad that we made ourselves, we split a stuffed baked potato and a pitcher of beer (they had 32 oz Miller lights on special for $3), a hunk of carrot cake and a hunk of chocolate cake, iced tea and the bill only came to $43. Let me know if you can top that!!!
