I called and needed somone today! They told me no problem, I waited and waited I called again and they told me I was next on the list and it should be no more than 1 hour. After 1.5 hours I called again only to hear the same story. When 5:30 in the afternoon came I called again only to hear that it could be anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours, but they don't work past 6:30. So that meant there was a chance no one would come out at all today. I waited all day to find out they most likely would not be out, but they would never say that directly. But the last time I called they did tell me I was not anywhere near being next in line. Poor Representation. If I would have known earlier in the day I could have called someone else. Instead it is now 6:20 pm on Friday and I am underwater and need help.
This company has no understanding of immediate needs and no conscience to fairly represent their workload and discuss with potential customers.
I give them no stars.

Roto-Rooter Plumbers 1/27/11
Calling into Roto Rooter was a painful experience. I called to have service on my main drain pipe - talked to dispatch (wayne /oakland michigan area 8007686911) and they could not provide and information on pricing. I was looking at having the main pipe looked at with the camera and potentially taking the necessary steps in having this fixed. Dispatch was not helpful at all - all they kept mentioning is a 29.95$ fee for the tech to come out and assess the problem.
I already knew my main drain pipe from the house to the street is backing up and yet dispatch was not able to provide any kind of pricing on what my issue could potentially cost..could it be $100? $500? $1500? Since the call center didn't have that information, I asked for a call back from the tech?/ or someone that would be able to provide the information - they don't do call backs. Imagine that!!!
So I reached out to some of the emails/corporate emails listed on the website and within a day I got a response from someone several levels up in management, mentioning they will forward my dissatisfaction concern to someone local and they will be able to help me out. I got a call from the local general manager and sure enough I expressed my concern on a potential quote. I mentioned I had already made an appt with another plumbing co, but if they do me right I will still go ahead and use roto rooter. He expressed that to clean out the main drain pipe is normally a couple hundred $ and assured me I would be happy. So I went ahead and used RotoRooter. After this point the general manager was nowhere to be found anymore, even thou he gave me a phone number to call him back on - apparently he's overworked cause I never got to talk to him again. I scheduled service for first thing in the morning on 1/26/11 and they did not show up - when I called them back, I was NEXT in line. So I rescheduled for first thing following morning. Finally they showed up on 1/27/11 and the tech that came out was very professional. He took care of the problem within several hours. I was very pleased with the service part of it once they came out, but was it a pain to get someone to come out. Ohhh and the bill went from couple of hundred $ to 630$. All that was needed was to clean out the main pipe.
Now one would wonder shouldn't they have a list of prices on how much a camera view and/ or certain types of work cost? This is ridiculous....

Please let me start by explaining what a mess I had. After my husband left, I was faced with all of the issues an old home has to give. The straw that almost broke the proverbial camel's back was when my clean out pipe backed up. Now prior to this disaster, I was totally unaware of what a clean out pipe was. I called Roto Rooter after 2 weeks of attempting to deal with this situation on my own. I was scared to death of the cost involved with such a mess. I spoke with the receptionist and asked that someone come by and provide me with an estimate. On Friday Nov 12th, I had the pleasure of meeting Mike, a Roto Rooter angel. He provided the estimate and went to work right away. He explained what he was doing and what the issue was. I must say the work that your employees endeavor, on a daily basis is quite overwhelming, however, Mike treated my situation as a true professional. I have and always will recommend Roto Rooter to all.

Roger the Drain Technician was very professional and courteous. He took the time to educate me on the common drain problems and how to fix them. It was comforting to know that companies such as Roto-Rooter still exist. Companies that take the time to truly help their customers. I would use the service again for any drain problem.
