Jeffs Forty Minute Cleaners
12540 Livernois Ave, Detroit, MI 48204
I was in a total last minute business situation with my clothing line. The staff and seamstress assisted me and were very polite and reassuring. They took care of my order in a short time and saved the day! I highly recommend this establishment for all my cleaning and seeing needs.
As a mother of two daughters that are in numerous beauty pageants every year; I was in desperate need of someone who could do delicate/intricate alterations on pageant dresses and outfits correctly, timely and reasonably priced---Jeff's Cleaners has accomplished all three! The cleaners came highly recommended from a friend and it is well worth my drive from Troy to Detroit. We are very pleased and blessed to find an establishment that still takes pride in their work and customers satisfaction .
You guys saved my life!!! If I had not been able to have those 3 dresses altered in such short notice, my girls would have looked horrible at that reception! I bought the dresses from a well known store for woman's formal gowns, and even though they were fitted, when the dresses arrived, on the day of the reception, no less, they didn't fit! OMG!
These folks at Jeff's were compassionate to my situation, and actually stayed late to get the work done! (I don't know the first thing about alterations, and she could tell, but made me feel totally at ease about it). Long story short, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I would recommend Jeff's Cleaners to everybody. 5 stars all the way!
By the way, my girls looked so devastatingly beautiful, and the dresses were PERFECT!
Thanks again you guys. Love you forever...
This is not the place that you want to take your clothing to be cleaned or repaired. I took a dress to be cleaned. When I picked up my dress on 2/4/12 not only was my dress not cleaned, a button was missing. I went back that Monday the 5th to complain and was told they would try and find the button and reclean my dress. A few days later I was told that they could not find my button and to call the manufacture to see about getting replacement buttons. After a week of trying to track down a number to call the company who makes the dress I was told they not available. Went back to Jeff's and was told by Barb that they would find me some buttons. Went back a week later they had put a smaller ivory button on my white dress. I told Barb that was not acceptable, she said I will look for more button that are WHITE. I went in today and the dress now had nine IVORY BUTTONS on it and they were all dirty. Went to walmart and found WHITE BUTTONS. I called back and talked to Barb and told her that I had found some WHITE BUTTONS, she told me that they would not pay for the NEW WHITE BUTTONS which only cost $11.00. I told Barb that they lost my button and they were responsible. Barb told me that they did not need me or my business, it would not make or break them because she sewed for four different cleaners. I told her that I would tell my friends not to go there and she said go ahead she did not need me. I went back and took the new white buttons to show her the difference and was told she was done talking to me because I was going to tell people not to visit the cleaners. It is very sad that you beg and pay to get good customer service. I will NEVER go back there and I will tell anyone who will listen not to go either because if you disagree with the service you will get yelled at and talked down to. They are not professional there and they do shotty work. I gave a one star rating only because you can't give a zero rating.
Friday July 1, 2011 Jeff's was approached to have advertised services for dry cleaning. After the acceptance of clothing and cataloging for pricing, the clerk was told that the bill for $49.50 would be pre-paid for the advertised 50% off discount, $24.75. The clerk stated that "everybody knows that that is only on Monday-Wednesday and it says to inquire inside for more details" and that the best he could do was a 10% discount. He was reminded that the large sign on the building to the right of the entry read clearly "50% off on all Pre-Paid Dry Cleaning $20.or more" and that was expected. The clerk held his head down and responded "the best I can do is 15%, remember when Jeff was alive there were no discounts." He was told that our family had been coming there for many decades and would he rather lose a customer than honor the sign. Several customers asked what was wrong and they were told and asked to look at the sign to make sure it was not misread. Both customers acknowledged my interpretation of the wording on the sign was correct. I requested he cancel my order and return all my clothing. The clerk was clearly upset and started speaking very rude and loudly that I was disrupting his business by "telling everybody on Livernois what's going on in here trying to make my customers go away!" I asked him his name and he abruptly responded with "bye!" The clerk was so loud that my passenger that was waiting in my car got out to see what was going on as did others that were walking by. I left with my clothing, headed home, and then called 313-931-5480 to speak with the owner. The same clerk answered and stated she was not there. The next day, Saturday July 2, 2011 at 11:41am the owner was available, apologized for the rude clerk, and stated my "opinion" of the sign was incorrect. She proceeded to give me her interpretation of what the sign really meant and threw in a comment about the economy. In turn she was reminded of what the sign clearly states. I was told again that that was my opinion. Girl, don't go there, go somewhere else!
