THIS IS THE BEST LEE'S FOR HAIR VARIETY/ and GOOD PRICING! I wear synthetic braiding hair of a superior brand - hard to find BUT THIS E. 7 Mile Location has it!! They carry a wide variety of hair human/ synthetic. Yes, the security staff are a bit 'bouncer' like (smile) but friendly. Considering the area can be a bit rough I get why they're needed. THE OWNERS ARE VERY, 'VERY' HELPFUL, PROFESSIONAL AND NICE!! I was able to call first to find out product availability before going to store.
MAXX BEAUTY SUPPLY IS NOT BLACK OWNED and should not be listed as such. While the Asian owners seem nice enough, you are not supporting a black-owned business.
The only reason I'm giving Jane's Beauty supply 1 star is because their is no option for zero stars. I purchased a human hair wig that was $49.99 + tax. The wig was nice, however the ends needed to be bumped out a bit. When I bumped the ends (using a flat iron at a low 300 temp) the wig felt like straw. I realized that my "human hair" wig was synthetic. I had the wig 2 days! I asked or a refund and was told "NO". I told the owner I would let all my friends and family know how awful the wig was and the bad I had been treated and that I work hard for my money and I expected better quality. I said that I would never spend another dime in that store and they were fraudulent in what they had done. They told me that "it doesn't matter". I spent $49.00 on a wig that lasted 2 days!!!! smh.... they knew exactly what they were doing. They should be ashamed.
Our family (5 women) have been shopping here weekly for 4 years. The owner/family and employees are all very welcoming, friendly, happy to help with any request. Good variety. We have never had a problem or complaint--marvelous business!
I always search for a store where I can find everything I needed. This store is not the store for me. They don't have the stuff that I need. The owner I think that is the owner doesn't do deals on the hair.
I went into this beauty supply for my first time the day after the holiday, July5th. I first noticed that the hair oil that I normally buy elsewhere was a little more then a dollar higher here but I figured I would just go ahead and buy it since I'm here. There was an older lady in front of me in line and I saw her hand the man behind the counter a $20 bill but he insisted that she had given him a $10 bill. I know I should have said something because they really treated her badly but they DID give her the correct change eventually but that was after they continually insulted her for 30 minutes. I also heard the man behind the counter lie to her and tell her he did not even have any $20 bills in his cash register but she witnessed the woman in front of her pay with a $20 bill and I witnessed her pay with a $20 so clearly he was lying. I don't think I want to take a chance with these people and my money seeing how they did her but I'm just sorry that I didnt speak up for her because I did see her pay with a $20 bill.
