I have been using this mechanic garage for a couple of years now and they are the only shop I deal with. Their staff is professional and kind. The mechanics seem to be able to solve even the most difficult problem for very reasonable fees. They are a busy shop, but I consider it a good thing to see a company with that much business in this economy. This shop has an excellent reputation and for me, it is easy to see why. From my experience, it seems highly unlikly that they would "borrow parts" off a customers vehicle, seeing as they have a MASSIVE used parts in the same location. Seems like the previous reviewer had a unfortunate coincidence, but I would never change my opinion of this place based on the other review. My advice, try them for yourselves and you be the judge!
I took my 2004 Durango into Michigan Motor Exchange two months ago and had them replace my engine. My experience with them was very positive from the start. They were very thorough in explaining everything that needed to be done and told me at that time I might need some additional parts after diagnosing the problem. They called me to ok everything and explained that these were preventative maintenance items. It has been two months now and I have 1200 miles on the engine and everything is running smoothly. I did have a check engine light come on so called them immediately and went back in to have them check it out. It ended up being nothing and they cleared the code for me. I would highly recommend Michigan Motor Exchange and I would not hesitate to go back to them for future business.
I just had Michigan Motor Exchange put a remanufactured engine into my 1998 Bravada. So far everything is running great. No one including myself wants to spend money on an older SUV but it turns out that it was cheaper than buying a new or used car with higher miles. So, for a few thousand bucks, I have a SUV that my 16 year old can drive. Looks good and runs great. David was very helpful in the process and straight forward about the costs. He gave me a competitive quote for the engine and after evaluating what else the truck needed...It was my decision....no pressure. It made sense to invest a bit more to address other non-engine related issues. I had my truck back in just over a week. I was referred to Michigan Motor Exchange by another automotive shop. I was very happy with my experience.
Could not have met a nicer staff then at Pointe AutoTech. My car was broken and I was in a very bad mood, but the moment I arrived at the repair shop I was assured all could be fixed in no time. I thought I would be stuck there all day and my pockets run dry. To my surprise the car was fixed before I knew it and I didn't want to leave. The car still runs great! Haven't had to take it back once, and that was months ago! I'm really glad I found a place that fits my needs. I don't know anything about cars or how they work and Pointe AutoTech really kept me up to speed about everything that was going on with my car. I would recommend them to anyone, and i already do!
I discovered this repair shop when my check engine light came on while I was driving on I -75. I was so relieved to find such professional, courteous, trustworthy guys who got me back on the road with such a short wait time! Now that I know they're just a mile off I-75, I've been using them for all my maintenance and repairs. Their prices are fantastic. (Way less than what I was paying in the Shelby / Macomb area.) The guys at the front desk are super sweethearts, and the mechanics are the most professional I've come across in years! A lot of people only take the time to complain, but I had to take a minute to say that these guys really deserve kudos!
I had my 2000 Escalade motor rebuilt, dropped the vehicle off 2-5-2013 and picked it up 2-11-2013. They went out of there way to give me a ride home. In addition to the rebuild they installed extras such as (belts, hoses, rotor, wires) preparing the car for the next 100,000 miles. I could not be happier for the service I rec'd from everyone involved, from the front guy at the counter to the one that gave me a ride home. Everyone was friendly and professional. If you need work done and want to be comfortable knowing it is taken care of, have it done at Michigan Motor Exchange. Thanks for the excellent service that was provided.
I highly recomened Arrow. I took my truck to Arrow for steering issues after having another company replace my King Pins (this other company said, there isn't anything wrong and that they've done all the could). Well, Arrow found the problem, took pictures and saved the old and NEW parts that were messed up, so that I could try to get my money back from this other repair place. A freind recomended Arrow; I wish I would've known about them from the start. Arrow recomended a full alignment after repair. This other company didn't even mention an alignment! I feel Arrow was and is looking out for me. Feels good!
Thank you Larry! For the great outstanding hassle free service that Michigan Motor Exchange provided to our company. You did everything that you said you do and more. I admit that I was a little skeptical at first about taking the route of a remanufactured motor over a new vehicle due to the poor service and broken promises that many service providers give today. However Larry you did right by us. Not only did we get 1 reman but we got 2 which saved us a lot of money as opposed to the route of brand new vehicles. They look good they run great and we're saving a lot of cash on insurance. Thanks again, Tony
I really think that the overall services done to my car has made a great difference! I'm VERY particular on who works on my baby, and I feel the mechanics are very skilled. However, as with most places, they tend to slightly overcharge women, but they had my car serviced w/in a day and a half, and I have yet to have issues w/ the parts they worked on. No complaints other than they don't have coffee sitting out lol. Great place, good, humble mechanics, pleasant but small atmosphere, and highly recommended overall!
Not your typical auto repair shop. Honest and professional place. I was ready to junk my car because no shop could figure out why the trans on mu truck was stuck in first gear. R.A.C. found the problem in a matter of an hour, changed the seals on transfer case, replaced the actuator and my trucks been running great ever since. Ill definitely be doing all my repairs at this place. I've never been more satisfied with service and prices at any other shop and I recommend R.A.C. to anyone with car trouble
