I have been using Eddie's Smog & Repair for 7 years. I do not take my vehicles to any other place because they do excellent work, they are honest, their prices are fair, and their service is great. It is difficult to find an auto repair shop that you can trust. Eddie's Smog and Repair has earned my trust because of the above.

To all my Snowbird compadres , I highly recommend the honesty and competence of this shop. It is not fancy or pretentious shop BUT HONESTY , COMPETENCE AND INTEGRITY rule the day. I drive a 2001 Toyota Solara SLE convertible .I had previously had some work performed at City Automotive , firstly brakes (went the check brakes warning light came on) and secondly an Alternator ; for which I paid a total of over $ 450 . So when my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air I immediately returned to that shop to ascertain the nature and extent of the problem and what the estimated cost of the repair would be if required. At this time I was advised that the "clutch " was seized and that I would require an A/C compressor & clutch together with a drier for a total cost of $550 +.Because they could not undertake the repairs for several days I SHOPPED AROUND FOR ANOTHER SHOP in Desert Hot Springs and thank goodness I did so because in so doing I found Eddies Smog and Auto Repair - 66271 Pierson Blvd - ph (760) 329-9911.He ask 2 questions and within 2 minutes he said that he did not think it was the clutch or the compressor. He recommended that I authorize him to undertake a diagnostic test before undertaking the more expensive repair, I of course did so and left to purchase breakfast. Upon my return 30 minutes later he told me that my problem was a broken wire to the compressor and that it would cost $30 to repair.Total bill $39.89 Freon $30.00 broken wire $69.99 complete air conditioner service ( all belts & lines checked, recharge and test system. All in ,including tax = $142.97 (EDDIES SAVED ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS)NOW WHO WOULD YOU TRUST .? Eddies or City Automotive ?You know who gets my vote for all future work that I may require and who I would highly recommend to you
Wow all i have to say is great customer service. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and new her stuff said hi to everyone wasnt rude at all. I went and it was really busy. But all the mechanics were nice and on there job. Three men assisted my vehicle and fixed the car quick. Eddie was the main mechanic an honest man i tell you. Great job... Keep it up!
