I have been going to this establishment for years and the barbers constantly call me by the wrong name. I have corrected them time and time again. It's just flat out refusal. If they call me by the wrong name another 15 or 16 more times, I'm going to write a YELP review. It's been getting worse and worse. These barbers are sneaky manipulators. Last time I was in there, they coerced me into sharing what men I would sleep with. Also, WAY too much ICP.

This was my first time going to Nellyville to have my natural hair done. My sister recommended her and it was for my birthday. I must say I am a difficult person to please and have not been to a hair salon in over 6 years or more. The atmosphere is real nice and you feel welcomed when first come in. Nell is great, her knowledge and experience with hair is outstanding and she has a great personality. Decent conversation to help by past the time and efficient work compared to some of the other places I've been. I didn't think I would ever have a beautician in Des Moines until I met Nell. Thanks for the great experience!
Well let me start off by saying when I entered upon the structure I was greeted by a griffin who heated my coffee with its laser eyes. When I looked around I noticed topless large chested women cheering me on. The hair cut was amazing so was the straight razor shave. When they finished the now nude women were so turned on they began tearing off my clothes offering up all holes. Also a great place for kids.
Well first let me start off by saying I was excited to try a new barber shop. Unfortunately my experience was no good. I made the mistake of taking my eight year old son there and had to leave because the vulgar language was so bad. Not only was the language vulgar the topics that they were speaking of we're very inappropriate (homosexuality, drugs) etc.... besides the inappropriate language they never greeted me and my son when we walked in, there were two people ahead of us and two people getting their hair cut but there were three barbers and one of them decided it was time for a smoke break while there were four people waiting. On top of all that when we got up to leave one of The Barbers turn to us and condescendingly said "are you guys leaving or"... so needless to say I had an awful experience and I'll make sure I tell everybody to stay away from that place.
My stylist is Danika. She cuts hair amazingly! When I was in the hospital and the lady was trying to style my hair for me, she made a comment on the cut of my hair. She now sees Danika! The other stylists that are there are so very friendly. It has a wonderful atmosphere and great products that can be purchased.I strongly strongly strongly advise going to the niche.
I'm wondering if a fellow by the name of Ed Savage is the owner of this salon? I knew a stylist by that name in Des Moines in 1980. And yes people got their hair done way back then.
Nellysville is by far the best salon in Des Moines. Nell is very talented and professional! If your looking for an awesome stylist with great skills and a positive attitude go to Nellys Ville!
