Tree Cabling and Bracing
Trees with poor branch structure, cavities or decay, overweight or unbalanced canopies or unusual wind exposure may create an unsafe situation. Ideally an arborist can mitigate a hazardous limb or leader by pruning. However, in certain situations pruning is not effective and would either compromise the health or aesthetics of the entire tree. Under these conditions the most effective method in reducing the risk of a limb failure is the installation of either cabling or bracing systems. Specific to each tree and situation, tree support systems connect weak or hazardous limbs to healthy and structurally-sound wood via cable or threaded rod. This technique greatly reduces the risk of branch failure by distributing wind and snow loads between the compromised limbs or leaders and the healthy stable portion of the tree.

Stumps may be unobtrusive in the woods or wood's edge and better left to decompose naturally. However, stumps that are unsafe, unsightly or prohibiting the addition of new plantings can be ground out. Removing stumps from your lawn or landscape beds requires specialized equipment, and ArborCare can accomplish it with minimal impact to existing plants or to the lawn area. Removal involves grinding with a machine that pulverizes the wood into finely shredded mulch. This mulch can be removed and turf or plants put in its place.
