Gracie's Sea Hag is the most wonderful dining experiances I've had on the Oregon Coast. Though a family dining restaurant they also have an adult full service lounge with live music with the most wonderful entertainer I've ever experienced. His name is Michael Dane and is Native Hawaiian. He sits on stage with a Grand Piano and other key boards. He does pop/rock/soul/country his way (real old school). There is a nice little dance floor that is well used. He also does a Hawaiian set usually with his acoustic guitar that is awsome. Besides the usual seafood dishes Gracie's Sea Hag also offers some dishes found almost nowhere else in oregon. 1) spotted prawns / tastes like lobster caught off the Oregon Coast and delivered live to The Sea Hag only one of handful of restaurant in the State of Oregon to offer it. 2) Oregon Caught abalone: Gracie's is only one of two restaurants in the entire U.S. to offer wild caught abalone. I love Gracie's inside and out. the Food Oracle.
This is one of the best restaurants in the area. They offer some unique dishes I've not had anywhere else such as their Dungeness crab casserole that was absolutely wonderful. Hubby had the razor clam steaks that was also very good. Their clam chowder was also excellent but their desserts were "to die for". I had the Tiramisu that was definitely home made and just melted in your mouth. Hubby tried the bread pudding with bourbon sauce that he said was excellent. They have many of the coastal favorites but they have very innovative and unique dishes not found anywhere else. The restaurant is small and very busy so it's best to call for a reservation. You won't be disappointed.
Went there for the first time on a referral. Ordered the Seafood Louie for $13.95. The description was “Seasonal greens topped with shrimp, crab, scallops, avocado, tomato, cheese, celery & hard-boiled egg”. I asked our waiter if he could leave out the scallops and add additional shrimp and crab instead. When the order arrived, there were five medium sized shrimp and the crab consisted of just one small piece. I asked our waited if that was typical of the amount of crab served in this $13.95 salad. His reply was “yes”, with no further clarification. I felt totally ripped off. On a separate note the cup of clam chowder was some of the best I’ve ever had.
The Sea Hag is an institution in Depoe Bay. The days of the old funky dive with the lady playing the water harp seem to be gone. The place is more upscale now, the food somewhat improved but not worth the drastic increase in price. A must-do once, but not anything to draw you back time and again.
We keep coming back every year. Great views and awesome food (Seahawk bread anyone?). Nice staff and did I mention the food is awesome?!?!? Prices are reasonable--especially for lunch, considering the quality of the food!
Had lunch here- DELIGHTFUL. Will return again when we are on the Oregon Coast. Food was excellent- have the Chowder(we had clam and smoked salmon)- all is good and hot. View is spectacular.
Awesome! Better than average Coastal food and the Only game in town after 8PM. Good food, but avoid the salad bar. Come on a night when Michael Dane is playing! You won't regret it.
This food was amazing. The customer service was outstanding. If you are new to the area or just visiting or even live here...I recommend eating here.
Not a lot of restaurants in Depoe Bay but the city is great! This was the one restaurant that had a bar and music for dancing.
One of my favorite restaurants on the Oregon coast. Great seafood and a killer view over Depot Bay. Sunset dining is a treat!
