Great school for the family. My wife and our 3 kids are having fun and getting in shape together. I like the focus on both the health and fitness and also on the self defense. We began just for fun as something the family could do together. Now we see how the focus and discipline is having an effect. The kids are doing so well is school and their teachers have told us they are really able to concentrate better and have more confidence especially around the kids who tend to pick on others. My wife really was eager to learn tai chi which she enjoys especially for the relaxation. But she has surprised herself in that she has found that she loves the conditioning and the application of the self defense and sparring! I had taken martial arts when I was younger but was in a style that did not have internal styles or weapons. I have enjoyed learning the history and application of the variety of weapons that are taught. In all were are having a great time and looking forward to advancing to the next level.
My 6-year old, at the time, daughter was introduced to Mile High Karate over 1 year ago when they came to her daycare. She really enjoyed it so we took her to the 2 week free trial. After 2 weeks she was hooked. After 1 month my daughter's self esteem was already improving as well as her behavior. After seeing this my 4 year old son started getting interested in it. Now about 1 year later me, my husband, step-son, and daughter all do karate 2 times a week. My children's behavior has improved, they answer with yes ma'am, yes sir, they are respectful and more attentive. My husband and I enjoy going for the great work out but also the family bonding and bonding with other families that in the classes as well. I highly recommend Mile High Karate because karate not only helps with self defence but it teaches your respect, self control, responsibility and it's fun! I challenge you to stop by and come visit a class and I see what it is all about!
My husband and I started working out here 2 years ago and have now lost over 80 (yes, you read that right, 80!) pounds!! It's an incredible place where the trainers - Gina Biglione, Dennis, Andrew all give you 100% and really push you to get better not just in technique but also improve your form and learn new things so you can consistently push yourself. I set a goal to lose a few pounds when I first enrolled but what I ended up getting is the body that I thought I can only dream of and quite a few friends who are just amazing people. If you want a killer bod, a mean kick and jab, and topnotch trainers (who truly care about you), then this is absolutely the place to be. Don't believe me? Then come experience it for yourself. Come at one of the classes offered from Monday to Saturday. It's about time you see what working out truly is about. Oh, and you can thank me later. :)
There are three essential qualities to being a good coach: knowledge, the ability to effectively share and communicate that knowledge, and the desire of the coach to make his (or her) students better than him (or her). Professor Rodrigo Salazar brings all these qualities to the academy every time he instructs. Always taking into account the level and background (if any) of the student, Professor Salazar uses a sincere and focused method of instruction with each student every time he teaches. In addition to his abilities and competencies as a coach, the academy itself is always a fun and productive enviroment in which to learn, excel and succeed. The consistent progression his students show is testament to his proficiency as a coach.
I have been training Brazilian jiu jitsu for almost two years now with Denver jiu jitsu and Rodrigo Salazar and I hope to be training with Rodrigo Salazar until I get my black belt and beyond, Rodrigo knows the Real Brazilian jiu jitsu self defense that can be used for competition, MMA and real life situations on the streets. I also tried other BJJ schools but not once it was mentioned the self defense aspect of the Brazilian jiu jitsu , so I went back to Denver jiu Jitsu and here I am today. that is a peace of advise I give to you if you want to learn some Real Brazilian jiu jitsu come to Denver jiu jitsu.
I absolutely hate working out but I can honestly say that I don't have to ever think about working out or counting calories since I found this place. I now feel confident in my ability to protect myself and love that I am part of such a close community of awesome people. This gym has great instructors and a good atmosphere. Rodrigo Salazar is the best coach you can ask for. He is always on your side and pushing you to become your best. If you have any doubts about this place go there and check it out. You won't be disappointed! :)
I can honestly say Mile High Karate has truly changed my life! Over the course of my training I've learned not only physical skills but also character and mental skills. My self-discipline, self-confidence, and public speaking have improved tremendously and I can't wait to see how much I will continue to grow! If you're looking for the benefit of martial arts training paired with an excellent character building education for yourself or your family I definitely recommend.
Both my kids attend Mile High Karate and love it! It's a family run and owned place. The teachers are knowledgable in child development and know how to motivate the students with positive reinforcement. They have been able to pick up on my youngest child's sensory issues and made accommodations for her to succeed. Mile High is not just a school it is a family!
I have been a student at Mile High Karate for many years and we love it. It's a positive environment for kids and the training is unbeatable. The staff is very well trained in both how to teach as well as martial arts skills. Everyone is very personable and respect both expected and given.
