As usual, great food and friendly service.
We are always greated as royalty as everyone we see going thru the entrance. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. The food is always consistent, authentic and delicious. We love the seafood dishes and the veal. The pasta is very good, but we prefer protein versus carb and Venice has a lot to choose from. WE REALLY LOVE VENICE. I cannot understand why they received three bad reviews (on the same day???). That' s very strange ( maybe those reviews are from the next door restaurant).

I cant even imagine where all these good comments are coming from! Our entire evening was ruined by this cracker jack venue. I made a reservation for Saturday evening at least two weeks in advance. I had family coming in to town and I wanted to show them a good time we arrived about 15 minutes in advance so we could have a drink at the bar before eating. The greeting was probably the only positive I can find in this hell hole. After waiting for service at the bar for 15 minutes the short little bar tender ran up and acted like it was a total inconvenience that I was ordering a drink. He was very curt and actually rolled his eyes at me! We decided we would go ahead and sit at our table because we wouldnt want the nasty little bar tender to have to make another drink. God forbid. This time at the hostess stand a short little mexican man whom I assume was the manager said it would take about 20-25 mintues to sit. 1 hour later we are starving and still waiting in the bar. The front was packed and everyone was upset because they all had reservations at 7:00 and were being quoted a wait time of 20-25 minutes! I have worked in many restaurants during college and I dont understand why someone would book so many people in one hour other than greed. We finally decided to leave and go to a real resaurant. This place has to be one of the most poorly managed businesses I have ever been to. I will never return there and im sure at the rate they are going they wont be there much longer.

I dined here with a group of friends this last weekend. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant that charges that much. I would rather dine at McDonald's for the rest of my days than give my money to these people ever again.
Don't be fooled by the friendly smile at the entrance, because you will have to wait over an hour for your reservation, which is fine with them because you can just go spend an extra $50 at the bar while you're waiting.
Food was without taste, most of my party's meat was cooked at the wrong temperature and it took over 20 minutes to get our deserts. It would be nice if when asking the helping staff for something they actually spoke English. The place is so crowded they pack everyone in like sardines.
When I asked to speak to the manager no one ever came to our table and on our way out I saw what looked like the manager at the bar enjoying his wine and talking to a woman.
I would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy.

The restaurant was wonderfully decorated with hearth shaped balloons and petals of roses all over. A rose for every women WAS A NICE TOUCH
The food was very tasty and beautifully presented.
The lobster dish was great but too pricey ($32)
The restaurant was kind of noisy around 7 pm.
Service was impeccable.
Overall it was a great experience.
I will go back.

The high-style restaurant has excellent food, perfectly prepared. The wine list is a veritable phone book of options with under the average prices. The waitstaff was extremely helpful. The maitre d' was a gentleman with myself and everybody on my table.
Venice will be my new spot.

My husband and I went to Venice this weekend. Our server was outstanding and the food was wonderful. I really enjoy when an Italian Restaurant makes all of their pasta fresh unlike some who just use frozen pasta. They have an incredible wine selection and our server was most helpful in helping us select the perfect bottle. Venice is great.

We took our 21 year old daughter and her friend there for her birthday celebration. Two and one half hours later, we were still there, waiting for the check. The service was so slow, we were wondering at times where the food was coming from. The service was unfriendly and the place wasn't really that crowded for a Wednesday night. She wasn't very helpful, barely smiled and didn't try at all to make my daughter's 21st birthday very special. The server was impatient waiting for our order, but then each course took forever to deliver. We have been to Venice many times, but this time was horrible. Go next door to Morton's if you want a memorable evening.

First off all, I just want to express how hard it was to find a simple, high end pasta meal here in Denver. I think we did it. It was my girlfriends birthday last Friday, and her one request was a simple spaghetti dinner with a good Italian sausage, and a nice bottle of red. After endless review, reviewing, I picked Venice. Part of the decision was based on location, a quick cab ride from the Cap Hill area. Because of last minute plans, we drove instead. We were quite happy to pay a few bucks for valet, as it was a busy and chilly night in Lo-Do. I had requested a romantic table knowing that this actually works once in a great while. We got it. She sat facing the quaintly Christmas lit street, while I had a great view of the massive wine cellar and softly lit wine bar. We were immediately served a warm basket of bread and oil, all made in house, and delicious. After viewing the quite extensive wine list, we received a nice free sample of Merlot but decided on the Raven Wood Zinfandel instead. The menu was also quite extensive, but offered a variety of choices. My girl decided not on the Spaghetti and sausage, but the Risotto con Spinaci e Salsiccia. I love a great olive oil, garlic pasta but could not find just what I was craving on the menu. I am not shy to ask for a special, so I did, and wow they nailed it. Prawns, garlic sauce and two large pieces of fabulous home made sausage. We hoped to spend around an hour during our stay, and thought we had hit it just right. After checking the time, we could not believe we had spent and hour and fifty minutes. How time flies when you are having fun. Thank you Dominique, you could not have been more helpful, and thank you Venice for making our evening a successful one. We will be back, and we have told all of our friends to take a peek.

We had the WORST service and the food was only OK...first the hostess was rude and sat us at a wobbly table. We asked to be moved which seemed to be a HUGE imposition for the staff. The waiter wasn't much better. It was oblivious he thought other tables would tip better so he smoozed them! We were ignored for most of the evening, no 2nd drink requests, no refills on our water or olive oil for our bread...
too bad...he would have gotten a good tip since we work in the hospitalily industry and appreciate good service! There must be other restaurants nearby who deserve my money.

I ate at the Venice Ristorante last night. Good food, but not excellent, good service but not excellent. The setting was fine except the tables for two are so close together you have to compete with other conversations. We had scampi and chicken, nice but certainly not anything memorable. The dessert was chocolate mousse it was outstanding. The service had long delays at the beginning and they served my girlfriend the wrong dish. Which was corrected, but awkward.

I went with 3 of my friends to Venice last Thursday and we had a wonderful time! I had one of the best pastas I've ever eaten in my life - a delicate ribbon pasta with seafood that was amazing. We tried each other's entrees and they were all excellent - I also really loved the veal scaloppine. Our waiter, Mark, helped us pick out a fairly inexpensive wine that went well with everything. And we all drank tap water and didn't feel any pressure to order bottled water or a more expensive wine?! My favorite thing, t hough, was a tour of the wine cellar (not really a cellar).
Our hotel made a reservation for our party so we thought why not. Well why not? First the hostess was about as rude and disorganized as possible. So we wait at the bar till our table was ready and have a drink. The bartender was rude and very uncourteous. When we we get to the table and asked about the specials the server just remarked they are on the menu and just read them... what? I noticed some tables being cateredto as though they were vips. I thought everyone in a restaurant was a vip, but no. We felt like just another number. The dining room wasnt crowded but when ever I asked for something my server was oh yeah I'll be right there. I gueass the custumer isnt right. I dont want to get into specifics but the cold shoulder doesnt work for me. I dont care how good the food was...

I made reservations for saturday night and was seated 30 min. late. I didnt think anything of that so it must be the place to dine. When we sat down our server was very pushy and unattentive. She pushed bottled water on us and when we asked for Denvers finest she just kopted an attitude. Then came the wine sale. When we refused the $300 bottle she reccomended she just shrugged her shoulders and made a snide remark. Now dont get me wrong, I myself work in the hospitalty industry and love when people spend money but in the hard economic times $300 bottles of wine are far and few between. But for a sarcastic, fake baked, and crossed-eyed ignorant server to belittle me on my anniversary is uncalled for. The food onthe other hand was terrific. BUT AGAIN MY SERVER WAS VERY UNATTENTIVE. When I stopped another server and asked for some more water he asked if I was drinking bottled and when I said no he said well I will try to find your server...can nobody fill water if its not in a bottle. Oh yeah whats with the $25 caesar salad that my little princess couldnt make or tell me the price. All and all the food was great but servers made my night a horrible experience.

The waiter we got at the restaurant was the dullest and most miserable waiter in the entire history of waiting. Of course the four eyed wonder freak probably has a miserable life so that probably translates over into his work and it showed. He complained about a 20% tip we gave him and said oh ""it's worse than I thought"". Who complains about a 20% tip. I thought he would be happy with that because the type of service he provides, he is probably used to a 2% tip all the time.
As for the food itself, it was just average at best. The hostess was very friendly and lovely. They do charge for their water though at $6 a bottle and they just keep refilling your glass and never tell you there is a charge for water.
Overall I'd say don't go to this restaurant unless it's to go knock out that no personality, four eyed, can't add waiter we got. If the owners of this restaurant read this review. One piece of advice if you don't want to go bankrupt. Be more selective of your wait staff and for sure fire that idiot waiter who works Monday nights in the lodo Venice.

When you see reviews like the previous one, you start to worry why people want to write what I believe is not true.
I have been a patron of Venice since their opening.
I think Venice offer a great value fore the quality of fresh food, ambiance, service and location.
The food and service are always top niche. The people working there are great and let' s not forget their incredible happy hour, voted by The Denver Post "" The longest in Denver"".
I hope Venice will continue to be successful and always busy.

I am unsure of how so many individuals can give this restaurant a high rating; perhaps they ate somewhere else and are mistaken, or they are employees...
We recently ate at Venice Ristorante. While the decor is well done, and the location great, it truly lacked any type of refined service. The waitstaff was pleasant, but not of the caliber you would expect in a nicer establishment. The food was good, but again, not as flavorful as one would expect for the price. We will not eat here again, as there are many more choices in Denver with better food and service for an equivalent price. My recommendation would be to either spend a bit more money for much better food, or spend less money for the same quality.
