DUI/DWI

Sex Crimes
Certain persons are ineligible for removal from the sex offender registry, thus registration is a lifetime requirement. Those persons are as follows: a sexually violent predator, any person who was convicted as an adult of: 1st degree sexual assault, 2nd degree sexual assault, sexual assault in violation of CRS 18-3-402 (includes offenses described by statute in CRS 18-3-402 to include Class 4 Felony, Class 1 Misdemeanor Extraordinary Risk, Class 3 Felony, Class 2 Felony), sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, sexual assault on a client by a psychotherapist, incest, aggravated incest, and any adult who has more than one conviction or adjudication for unlawful sexual behavior in Colorado or another state as an adult or juvenile.
Robbery
Some of the most common types of felonies, which are prosecuted, include robbery, grand theft, drug possession and/or sales, sexual assault, burglary, and aggravated assault.
Burglary
A variety of allegations can result in domestic violence charges, ranging from harassment, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and burglary to overt threats and assault. If you are being prosecuted for a domestic violence charge, the court will issue a Mandatory Protection Order, more commonly known as a restraining order, as a condition for your release from jail. This order will require you to stay away from the alleged victim's home, or other places where the alleged victim may go, such as his or her school, church, or job. The order will also require you to avoid contacting the alleged victim directly, including by telephone, letters, email, or text messages, as well as indirectly, such as through a friend, family member, or child. In addition, jurisdictions throughout Colorado have a "no-drop" policy once domestic violence charges are brought. The effect of this policy is to prosecute the defendant on the charges regardless of whether the accuser cooperates.

Misdemeanors
Misdemeanor crimes in Colorado are divided into three separate classes, depending upon the severity of the potential punishment involved. "Class One" misdemeanors are the most severe, and carry a potential penalty of up to eighteen months imprisonment, or a five thousand dollar fine, or both. The maximum time of imprisonment may be increased beyond the stated eighteen months for crimes that are considered "extraordinary risk crimes", as defined by statute.
Drug Crimes
Often times DUI drug cases do not involve illegal drugs and narcotics. Cases are frequently prosecuted involving over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, and marijuana (regardless of whether a driver has his/her medical marijuana registration card).
Assault
There are six different classes of felonies that divide these crimes based on their nature and the maximum potential sentence that may be imposed. There is a presumptive penalty range for each felony classification, as well as maximum and minimum incarceration sentences. The penalties can range from a year of imprisonment to life imprisonment. The court is allowed to deviate from a presumptive penalty range in a felony case when there are extraordinary mitigating or aggravating circumstances. Felonies that are commonly prosecuted in Colorado include aggravated assault, sexual assault, burglary, drug crimes, grand theft, and robbery. Misdemeanors

Juvenile law in Colorado is an enormous area of law encompassing special rules, proceedings, statutes, agencies, sentencing schemes, and rights. Juvenile law is governed by the Colorado Children’s Code.
Probation Violation
