I read some of these poor reviews believe, and I can hardly believe my eyes. Yeah, I know some places have trouble from time to time, but I have never had any trouble or a bad meal at this restaurant. To begin with, how can you go wrong with an Eggplant Parmigiana, or a Veggie Lasagna that are only $9.99 each? They also have decent wines at decent prices, and a pretty good Caesar for $5.00. I understand the place is small, and doesn't open until 5:00 p.m., but what do people expect? A good, small restaurant is going to be busy, and they can only do so much to make patrons happy.
My suggestions to make this an enjoyable outing for you and yours are: 1) Don't be afraid to take a seat at the bar. I've gone in when people were waiting outside for a table, but there were plenty of seats at the bar. They'll serve anything off the menu up at the bar, and the bartender is happy not only for the company, but for the tips as well. 2) I know restaurants like big parties, but, if you want a big party, have this one cater to your house. It's just too small for big parties, even though they try to accommodate them. Keep your party small, say to around two or three, OK? 3) Don't be afraid of the Veggie Lasagna. It is good.
This is one of the few places in town I know of where you can get an excellent meal all the way around, (salad, bread, wine, and entree), at a very reasonable price, and enjoy it all in a historic Denver building - it used to be the Park Hill Drug Store. Very cool.

No ( I repeat, NO) gluten free menu. Disappointing since most other Italian restaurants in Denver offer one for those with gluten intolerance. Or at least they offer wheat free pasta. Love the atmosphere, good wine selection but probably won't go back due to the limited menu options.

I live in Park Hill and have driven by this place many times and always wanted to try it. I went at 5pm on Friday and arrived to an empty restaurant but was told my party of 2 couldn't sit until we were both present.
Eventually we were seated and our waiter had zero personality and rushed us through our meal. After we paid we had just signed our receipt and were sitting at the table for less than 5min when our waiter came back and said we had to leave because there was a wait. Rude! If thats how they treat their paying customers I will never go back!

Cherry Tomato is one of my favorite places in Denver. It is such a cute little neighborhood restaurant with lots of charm and reasonable prices.
The Carbonara is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I crave it and usually get it every time. The Seafood Ravioli is also very good.
I have brought family here a few times and everyone is always pleased with their meal and the atmosphere.

Went on a recommendation that it was decent Italian food for a reasonable price - Well that could not have been any further from the truth. Being a new transplant from the east coast I should know better; but really it does not take much to make decent Italian food, seriously... Just do not bother with Cherry Tomato, it is not American Italian or any region of Italian cooking. Just stay home and chop some tomato's with garlic add olive oil and put it over some pasta and you have already surpassed Cherry Tomato.

We have been going here for years. We have always had excellent food. One of the most consistent restaurants I have ever eaten at. The house favorites like lasagna, pasta felice & the veal dishes never fail to please. Its a cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I do not get these comments about too much garlic. These folks must like really plain food. I think the prices are very fair. $11 for a pasta dish $20 for veal or fish. And now they have delivery, its great after a long day at work when you just want to sit in front of the TV and have a gourmet meal brought to you. The food comes hot and tastes the same as in the restaurant.

Live around the corner, called ahead to get on the list like we always do, usually no problem. We arrive in the 5 minutes we said we would, unfortunately behind another couple. They told the couple ahead of us it would be 10 minutes, they told me and my wife it would be 25 - 30 minutes even though I explained we were ahead of them, and I was looking at a couple empty 2 tops. All the hostess could muster was, ""I'm sorry, a bunch of people came in."" That was the WRONG answer. We did not stay. We went to the Walnut Room for some great pizza and beer.
Our experience prior to this was only so-so. Waiter forgetting stuff, namely the food. It's going downhill fast. We only go here because it's literally around the corner. Sad, sad, sad.

The food is mediocre, the service slow, and on top of that they added $3 extra dollars on my Visa receipt. I had to dispute the card in order to get my money back. Check your credit card statement before you pay your bills, who knows how many times they have done that before.

While recently vacationing in Denver form NY, I passed by this cute little corner restaurant on the way to the zoo. I decided to stop in with my 2 children for dinner ( after we visited the playground kitty corner from it! How convienent!) I am glad to say we were not disappointed. So cute inside and the kids love it. Plenty of crayons to keep them busy! I ordered the house Pasta Felese which was out of this world! Our waiter was so friendly with the kids and they loved the spaghetti and meatballs! I coming back, with my neighbors kids!

Our experience at the Cherry Tomato has been terrific both times we have eaten there. We are always looking for Italian restaurants with great food and service. This is it.! The food is always hot and very tatsty. The service is wonderful. We lived in Italy and we can say this is real Italian food. We will continue to go back especially for the great salmon and spinch. WE highly recommend this fun little restaurant.
My husband and I have taken friends and out of town family there to dine often, and they always want to go back. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable about wines. The marinara sauce is tops. The chef does wonders with fish. Pasta Felese is to drool over. Chicken Picatta is the best I've ever eaten. I've never experienced bad service. I even had the pleasure of witnessing a young man proposing to his sweetheart one night. Everyone cheered when she said ""Yes."" You feel like part of a large, loving family when you dine there. And, the food is delicious.
I absolutely LOVE the Cherry Tomato!! The food is incredible. Everything I have had there was awesome and you can tell it was made with the heart and soul of the chef!! I am Italian myself, so I am very choosy about Italitan food, the Cherry Tomato goes above and beyond my expectations of quality, excellent, Italian food.
My family and friends frequent the Cherry Tomato for its fine Italian cuisine and have never been disappointed. The service is impeccable as are the wonderful dishes they offer! Great first date restaurant. Great family restaurant. They treat you like royalty!

I went to The Cherry Tomato on Saturday night and ordered the meat lasagna while my wife ordered the cheese tortellini. The tortellini was mediocre at best as other reviewers have mentioned - way too much garlic in the red sauce. The lasagna, however, was horrible. The inside of the lasagna contained no sauce and was so dry I found the entire eating experience to be mouth-puckering. The small amount of sauce provided on top of the lasagna was so salty I could not even eat it. I honestly drank 6 glasses of water with the meal. I've eaten a lot of lasagna in my life and this was by far the worst. I would compare the quality of this lasagna to a cafeteria's lasagna that has been sitting under the heating lights for 3 hours and you happened to get the last burned corner piece. In addition the server was completely disinterested in our table and my concerns about the lasagna. I do not recommend the Cherry Tomato unless you like bad food and bad service.

From the moment you step into Cherry Tomato, you will delight in the wonderful smell emenating from the kitchen and find yourself surounded by great servers. Everything that our table ordered was very tasty and easily our favorite in Denver. The food is very reasonably priced and the wine list offers a wide variety of excellent choices in the $40-$50/bottle price range. The desserts are outstanding! You will be very happy you made the trip! Enjoy.

My family lives in the area and had high hopes for The Cherry tomato. We were disappointed with each course, as even the salad seemed to be very garlicy. The lasagna, noodles and marinara sauce, and the vegetable lasagna were all incredibly flavored with garlic. The food is sub-par, and incredibly over-priced.
