The Intermountain Division of The Salvation Army is located in Denver. The organization operates thrift stores and worship and Christian centers. It provides a variety of adult rehabilitation services and transitional housing programs. The Salvation Army offers older adult programs in cultural, social, age-specific and inter-generational contexts. The parent organization provides meals, drinking water, ice, clean-up kits and pastoral care to individuals affected by disasters. It additionally offers summer camping and character building programs. The Salvation Army provides crisis residential, intensive outpatient and residential rehabilitation programs. The Salvation Amy, founded in 1865 to help the impoverished in London s East End, has functioned worldwide for more than 140 years.
