A great place where you can sit down and unwind. The regulars are very friendly to me, and the food is delicious! The wait staff are great. Plus, their jukebox plays music that is fun! My new favorite place! I just stumbled upon this bar a few months ago!

Provided by CitysearchWatch out for BED BUGS!! in this establishment Just told by exterminator the bar benches have some of the worst bed bugs he has seen!! it has caused so much heart ache in the community it has been traced back to this bar.DON'T DRINK FROM THE ROTTEN DRAFT THAT'S WHY DRINKS ARE SO CHEAP pay the extra dollar and go to a real bar without spreading anything!!!

Provided by CitysearchI had such high hopes for this bar, and I tried to like it so much since it was such in close proximity to where I live, but the food was a sad display, and the drinks were weak. The manager was unhelpful and quite frankly rude. We wanted to discuss the quality of drinks and food and were brushed off. Even a later phone call was handled inappropriately. If you want to have a great time with quality food and service AVOID THIS BAR!!!

Provided by CitysearchVisited the Park Tavern after hearing much about it. As one of my favorite beers, Arrogant B@st@rd (Sigh, filtering.), is on tap there, it looked to be a pleasant trip. Unfortunately, the beers were skunky, flat, and more or less undrinkable.
For the meal, I tried the special: a New York Steak Sandwich, cooked medium. What I got: the worst, most bland, rubbery, overcooked steak placed on a flavorless bun. Someone in need of a steak sandwich would be far better served by going to the grocery store and buying frozen Steak'ums.
Atmosphere is that of a typical bar, if a bit aged feeling. The environment is on the loud side and continues to get more so as the night wears on. The staff is fairly friendly and chatty.
Would not go back, nor recommend.

Provided by CitysearchHere's the deal: It's practically always happy hour at this place, meaning 2-for-1 drinks pretty much anytime you're there. If it's not happy hour, it's probably $2-U-Call-Its (Tuesday nights), or DOLLAR drinks (Saturday nights). And even if none of things happen to be going on while you're there, the drinks are still cheaper than most places anyway. Plus, there's bingo on Monday nights and trivia on Wednesday nights, poker on Sundays, tons of TV's if you want to watch a sports game, and there are pool and foosball tables.
So if the cheap drinks and tons of entertaining activities aren't enough to convince you that the Park Tavern is awesome, try the food!! Seriously, the pizza is surprisingly good (and cheap)!! The Greek salad is another one of my favs, along with the buffalo chicken sandwich. The burgers are tasty as well, and my biggest complaint is that mine might not have been cooked exactly to temperature (I asked for medium, and it was more along the medium-well side).
Although there can sometimes be white-trashy type people there, there are also the awesome, down-to-earth people there too! I definitely agree with what has been said about there not being yuppies, just a good mix of different, genuine people! Including the staff!! So you tell me, what more could you want?!?

Provided by CitysearchThe drinks are dirt cheap, they have a patio in the summer, but that is where the charm of this dirty dive bar comes to an end. The servers are rude, the drinks are nearly undrinkable.

Provided by CitysearchI can't BELIEVE this bar has such a high rating. Yes, the drinks are cheap, but you get what you pay for. I'm not a fan of some of the super trendy and pretentious Lodo or Highlands bars, but this place is ugly, dirty, and completely without charm. And the people who go there seem to be primarily stupid white trash who only care about how completely wasted they can get.

Provided by CitysearchThis place has great drink specials. It also has a relatively down to earth environment compared to other bars. The staff is always laid-back and friendly. Overall, this is a great dive bar.

Provided by CitysearchYeah like I want to hangout a frat party. It was like I was back at the dorm, drunks reeling all over the place and some young girl who looked like she just got out of cheerleading practice ralphed all over. Great place if you didn't get enough of b -rated keg partys

Provided by CitysearchDoors open at 8am and for all the shift workers, a great time to unwind with a 2-for-1 drink special. Great breakfast menu, burgers are okay. Service is lacking a little but the prices make up for it.

Provided by CitysearchThis is a favorite local haunt for the fun-loving CapHill crowd and the beer tokens make me feel like I'm at Chucky Cheese's (without the kids, clean air, and prizes). Food and service is spotty, but the servers are a riot, so don't get all uptight yuppie, go to uptown for that. The servers here will actually, more often than not, make you feel at home. Great patio during the day and warm evenings, and I can't remember ever seeing a fight. Loud, smokey and unpretentious, The Park is my personal fav for a beer or nine!

Provided by CitysearchCan't beat the chip system. Great place to drink for cheap.

Provided by CitysearchThe drinking is very economical. The people are totally real.
Just go .

Provided by CitysearchIf you like cheap booze. You have to come here. Nobody here is looking to ""hook up"". They are looking for drunkeness. Most people that go here succeed. Very fun place to go. And NO YUPPIES!

Provided by CitysearchA true old-stlye bar where you can just go for a drink (or two!), enjoy friendly conversation with people from ALL - unlike a LODO bar - walks of life, visit the game room, watch sports, or even sit quietly and read a book. The service is generally quite good and with every drink during one of three happy hours you get a chip that will cerry over to another one even on a different day. And as a bonus there is a liquor store next door, a laundrmat, 7-11, Wild Oats, Up-scale restaraunt, low-rent bar, and chinese take out. What more could you want!

Provided by CitysearchThis is a great place to hang out with friends.
Totally unassuming and laid back. The waitresses are awesome and friendly. Plus you can get a lot with very little money.
The only downsides are too much smoke and not hot chicks.
