I have a child in the middle school at Notre Dame and we are very happy with the school, the teachers and administration. It is amazing to have God incorporated into in our daily school activities. And without a doubt, we are thrilled to be surrounded by caring, compassionate teachers who are at Notre Dame because they believe in our school and the children they teach.
I know our teachers and administration could easily be elsewhere, working for more money. Yet they choose Notre Dame because of our community and I would have to believe, our children they get to work with every day.
With all the cuts and uncertainty swirling around the public schools, I am glad that we are on extremely solid ground at Notre Dame for the upcoming junior high years.

The junior high staff operate under the guise of teaching traditional roman catholic values. With the exception of a few middle school staff members, I found them unprofessional, rude, and uncaring. If you walk down the hall of the basement where the Jr. High is located you will hear the voice of at least one teacher screaming at any given time.
If your child has dfficulty with disorganization, like my did, he or she will receive the support of detention-where they will not be allowed to complete their homework. The hole my child dug got deeper and deeper as well as his/her despair.
Not one staff member ever contacted me to tell me of their concern for my child. No one ever did anything to help him/her.
PUNITIVE is the perfect word for the 'behavior management' system at Notre Dame.
They want perfect, quiet, STILL children.
Notre Dame has been part of our family for the past 6 years. We love the teachers and staff. We cannot thank those who have been involved in our children's education enough. There is a high standard and a lot expected of the students.
While I must be honest in this review as well, I will say that not every student will thrive with every teacher, that is why I think it is valuable to know that there is a large support system for our children in that there is more than one teacher per class. Having all three of my children struggle with mild ADD, it is nice that with each personality there is a teacher that helps my child grow and thrive in their environment.
We have prayer and support that most kids in public school do not have. The entire school pulls together in fundraising and as hard as this is to admit we have been hit with job loss, Monsignor is so sympathetic with the situation created by a turbulent economy. He has helped us tremendously to keep our children in Notre Dame during some very tough times with job loss. Thank you Notre Dame for being a part of our family. I believe that my children are growing to be wonderful human beings with a strong foundation of faith.
As for the review given by the first person, well it is clear to me that there is some bitterness, I am sorry that your experience was not fruitful, but I pray that God has led you to where you can be fruitful. We are by far, not all useless at this school as we have witnessed incredible generousity and kindness from the teachers and staff alike.
We have been at ND for 6 yrs. and after having sent 4 other children to public schools, this is like a breath of fresh air. As a parent I finally have a voice in all aspects of my childs environment and it is a lot easier to keep track of progress or failure. As I commented on the negative childs review: We are sorry that you did not enjoy your time at ND. Fortunately you live in a country where you are free to choose and we will pray for you that you succeed in your future endeavers. Your review came across as very elementary and luckily most people reading it will take it for what it is...a disgruntled child with a lot to learn about life.
For us ND was the right choice.
Proud to be a parent of a ND student!
The greatest investment you can make is in your children; and Notre Dame is the best school to watch that investment flourish. Our son loves this school; every teacher has been his favorite! If you're looking for a school that teaches strong Catholic values and challenges the students with rigorous academics, a place where the principal knows every child by name, then Notre Dame is a school for you to consider.
Stop in, and see and feel what sets this school apart from others.
As a parent of three students at Notre Dame, I can attest to the quality education, dedication, and enjoyment that my children have received there. The teachers and faculty are amazingly dedicated and focused. They are approachable, communicate well, and truly concerned that their students receive a solid, Catholic education.
Notre Dame is truly like a family. We socialize with the other families in athletics, camping, and just weekend activities. I know of several single parent families that love Notre Dame, and gladly make the sacrifice to send their children to Notre Dame. Discipline is solid, but not over bearing. Troublemakers don't last long, but the teachers and faculty will always work to get the best out of each child.
Notre Dame is a very Catholic school; we start and end with prayer, there is mass, liturgy, and frequent interaction with the priests. However, there are several non-Catholic families, and even some Buddists, that attend Notre Dame. This must speak to the quality of education and environment they can't find elsewhere.
If you look at the test scores, and future development of Notre Dame students, you will see just how good of an education they receive. Unhappy students are not good students and Notre Dame students are successful else where. If the previous reviewer, ""nocatholicschool"", had stayed a bit longer perhaps they would have been able to write a more grammatically correct sentence.
Is Notre Dame the right school for you? Ultimately, you have to decide yourself. Schedule a tour, have your child shadow and see what a typical day really is. There are lots of good schools in Denver, but Notre Dame gives a great education and a solid foundation in living a Catholic life. My three children love it there and that is good enough for me.
Our children have attended ND for 11 years. We are very happy with the school.
We have an awesome Pastor and a wonderful Principal. The faculty and staff do an excellent job. The parents are very supportive of their children. The students are serious and dedicated. It is an environment that makes it possible for everybody to succeed!!!
Go for a visit and you'll quickly be pleased with what you see.
