I stayed at the Microtel Inn at the Denver Airport on 6/15. I asked at the front desk if the hotel shuttle could pick me up at the car rental agency & the employee told me that it could. She gave me a phone number for when I was ready to be picked up.
In a nutshell, they left me stranded at the car rental agency for an hour. I was told that the shuttle already came to get me, but that I wasn’t there. This was not possible –I had a full view of the area. When the driver finally arrived, I asked if she’d been to the rental agency earlier to pick me up. She replied that she hadn’t.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I went to the front desk to complain. The manager apologized & offered me a 20% refund. She said that I’d need to call Expedia to initiate the refund. I told her that I’d call right then to get it taken care of. She then said that she would take care of everything & that I could just return to my room.
It’s now three weeks later - no refund. I called the hotel to ask about the refund & I was told that I need to call Expedia to initiate the refund. I find it unacceptable that the only reason I found this out was because I called them – they should have called me.
While the accommodations at this hotel were fine, think twice before putting your trust in their staff for any other reason. Hotel staff should really know (and perform) better - this is an airport hotel and these kinds of errors are not acceptable when guests are counting on getting to their flights on time.
