We discovered this place when it was Carbone’s in the mid 70’s. When it changed hands it went way down hill. Enter the Lechuga’s era. Lechuga’s brought back the service and food we so loved from Carbone’s. But the magic is gone. The pizza crust used to be fantastic and it is now just excellent. The toppings and sauce, just as good as the old days. Friendly service. It is still our favorite pizza restaurant. As we live miles away we get here only a few times a year so it’s always pizza and we never try anything else. O yes good cheese bread.

My gf and I recently stopped by this crazy joint on our way home from frisbee and we were pleasantly surprised by the great food, service and affordablility. If you haven't tried this place you should stop by and give it a go.
I think you will really like it. -Charlie

We've been coming to Lechuga's since before it was Lechuga's and that's a long, long time. If you stick to the pizza or the cannoli you will never be disappointed. The crust actually has flavor - kind of yeasty/buttery. The sausage is homemade. Try a ""little devil"" - delish piece of sausage wrapped in a jalepeno and nestled in their great crust - dip it in their semi-sweet marinera and you'll be in heaven. On the down side - the atmosphere can only be described as neighborhood tacky (eat in the bar and you won't notice it so much because it's so dark) - the pastas are pretty pedestrian but then I told you it's about the pizza and cannoli.

I grew up in North Denver but live near Parker now. There are 3 places worth the drive in North Denver and Lechuga's is one of them. I love the Canolis; I can't get enough of em. I have to buy the canolis by the dozen because my in-laws always seem to find out I made the trip for canolis and they have to have one as well.

graham310 must not get around the old neighborhood too much. this is great feel good food. the red hots & devil hots are excellent. the pasta and sausage are also good. Pizza is also good. Want ambience? Go to lodo. Want good neighborhood food? Here's the place!

It seemed like they just tried to cover a completely bland pizza with garlic in the Jiffy crust and spread on top. It was definitely an Italian ""dive"" without any of the pleasant aspects of such a place. One nice element was an old, colorful mural of Napoli on one wall in the dining room, but it certainly didn't fit in with the rest of the place, which just seemed tired.

This is a good place for any time of the day or night. Whether you're hitting the take out for lunch, catching up with buddies or a date after work, or looking to get dressed up for some local salsa dancing on a Friday night! Lechuga's has it all. It is situated in the heart of old North Denver minutes from LoDo. Owners Chuck and Rachel are well know folks in the neighborhood and bring in some of the friendliest folks around town.
Bravo Bravo !!
