Our little family enjoyed a good meal here last weekend. Everything was prepared with care but we did find the portions a little small for the price point. Also, the staff never refilled or asked how everything was. Good thing we didn't have any major issues so all was good.

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Tucked away off the street with a little patio outside and a very warm feel to it inside. Food is like going to Sante Fe or Taos. I haven't tried anything I didn't like. My husband's only complaint is that the portions aren't big enough.

I visited Julia Blackbird's on Saturday July 22nd and ordered the Taos Tacos (one of my favorites). The tacos come with a choice of either shredded beef or chicken topped with lettuce, tomato and pico de gallo. In addition, the plate is garnished with queso fresco, fresh guacamole and salsa as toppers. The restaurant does not provide Tabasco on the tables as the food is flavorful enough to not need to be doused with unnecessary heat. If you are looking for cheap flavorless taco thrills perhaps you should visit your local Taco Bell drive-thru! I have been a regular customer of Julia's for the past 5 years and frequently recommend it to family, friends, and coworkers. They have never been disappointed!

I finally made my way to the most talked about resteraunt, Julia Blackbirds. I had to see what everyone was talking about. I first walked up and saw a great lit patio with a great atmosphere and people enjoying there food. I walk in to be greeted by a friendly smile and was seated right away. The food is wonderful fresh and colorful, the beer and margs are awesome. The artwork on the wall was also an added charm to her resteraunt. Julia personally came to our table and asked how everything was. I highly recommend Julia Blackbirds!
I have found that throughout most of the reviews, the complaints mostly concentrate on how hard it is to get a table. I must agree that during peak hours you may have to wait to get a table, however why would you complain? Obviously if the place is packed they must be doing something right. If you don't like the wait, go somewhere less popular. I've been frequenting Julia's for years, and have tried nearly everything on the menu. The food is to die for and the wait staff is incredibly friendly. Julia herself can be found in the dining room most of the time, and is more than willing to take care of any problems that may come up. Julia's is great, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a true taste of New Mexican cuisine.
When I was asking around for a great place to eat with friends or my girlfriend I kept getting the same place Julia Blackebirds. The talk around was that this was the best place to get New Mexican dishs and from what i experienced I am now one of those that do nothing but give compliments. It is a great place to go and hang out with friends for just a casual night of hanging out and eating fantastic food. When it comes to Julias i would wait for hours to be seated, even though you will never have to.
I went to Julias friday night and I left with nothing to complain about. I was seated right when I walked in the door, and servers were very kind and professional. I have never tasted a more Authentic taste without actually going to New Mexico. I also enjoyed the vibrant colors and paintings. Julia's is a great place to bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of good times and great food.

I've been to Julia's a couple of times... the food is below average, looks pretty but the flavors can be very bitter. The service is terrible for what is usually a small crowd and the prices outrageous for what you get. I've already decided I'll never eat there again.

Julia Blackbird's is more of a spin off of New Mexican food, rather than authentic. The food is ok but not authentic and not all that unique either. As a New Mexican transplant in Denver, I would never take anyone here to introduce them to New Mexican cuisine. The chile is bland. Not hot enough for a native, but I guess they don't really expect many New Mexicans to walk in the door.
