We were coming in from out of town because our father was receiving an award. I coordinated our entire evening over several phone calls. Everything went perfectly!
We were seated in the semi-private wine alcove. The menus were printed without prices as I had requested. The waitstaff was very helpful especially with wine suggestions as we were not regular wine drinkers.
The food was great. The hot tower was very good and just enough for everyone to taste. We ordered ribeyes, filets, the catch of the day and sashimi. Everything was cooked perfectly.
I ordered a cake to celebrate the special day. Not only was it very elegant looking, it tasted wonderfully.
Would definitely recommend Elway's Downtown for special occasions.

John's signature salad was tasty, but for $9 it was small & somewhat wilted. The steaks were less than memorable. I had a Ribeye at $39, hardly any seasoning & not a especially high quality piece of meat. The sides weren't even very tasty, everything was very bland. My friend ordered the filet medium well, which appeared to have been charred to death instead of a nice slow cooked medium well. I've had better meals at Applebee's & I'm not even a fan of Applebee's.

These are the best steaks in the downtown scene. The have a rub they use that is the secret. The sides are pretty good and the deserts are average. The staff is great and the ritz feel is definitely a good thing. The Cherry Creek Elway's is great if you want to become cougar bait. The ritz Elway's is better all around. The desserts are very average though. They can't touch the desserts are Morton's or Capital Grille. The sides are decent.
