Great place - highly recommended!

Under new ownership and management (well, sort of new - since about 2007/2008), this place is hugely improved. The service is very friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent.

Very nice people, and a great place to have some outstanding Italian food without spending too much.

best italian in denver

Brunos' location is very hidden in a quiet unassuming shopping center at the corner of Evans and Monaco. But don't let the lack of traffic stop you from heaing that way and having some of the best homemade italian food you've ever tasted! Everything is made fresh per order by the chef and owner, Nick. My favorite dish is the veal saltimbocca with delectable tender veal, mortadella, and gnocci. YUM! His staff is incredible, friendly, and on the ball with everything. And Nick makes sure to stop by each table to ask how the meal was. All in all, I will be going back!

Amazing Food

A friend of mine suggested that I go to Bruno's if I want to have great Italian food. So I did go there with my brother and was amazed, the food and service was really good, the decor was to nice for a neighborhood place but its really good and that's why I took my date there.
first time I had the Chicken and Sausage with Creamy Marinara which was the best, the second time with my date i wanted to be more fancy so I ordered Chicken Parm Siciliano and was amazed again. I will be going back every time I want Italian food, and I recommend it to anyone.

Very enjoyable dinner

As party of 5, we had diinner there about 2 weeks ago. The food and service was excellent. I read all the other reviews & do not fully understand complaints. I do understand how in small place certain items can run out like a special wine or meat. Everything we had was well prepared favorful and served politely. Each person in our group eats out 1 to 2 times a week. There was not one complaint at table.

Disappointing service, food, atmosphere

There was a smoke in indoors part of the restorant. The waiter kept coming back with ""sorry, we ran out of this"". They could not get the bottle of the wine listed on their menu. Finally, the waiter said that ran out of the lamb. The salad was not fresh, with musty tomato and old lettuce. There were traces of lipstick on one of the glasses. The pasta was not good either. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Not ""The Best""

Went there because we'd heard reviews that this was one of Denver's Best Italian. Not so. Bread was cold and hard, the ""meat""balls we bad. Sauces had no flavor, very bland. Too expensive for what you get. Service was nice, and atmosphere was plesant, but it's not enough to make me go back.

Yuck!

I was very disappointed on the whole experience. The food tasted like a warmed up frozen TV dinner. The place was not crowed, and having only one waiter isnt a good thing. The owner was rude and I'm not sure how he stays in business with his poor management and people skills. I wouldnt bother with eating at this place again, there are plenty of better Italian restaurants around town.

Poor food, service, and atmosphere

After experiencing mind-numbingly slow service in a cheap, strip-mall atmosphere, I was insulted by the manager for having the apparent audacity to issue a complaint.

I'd eaten here several times in the past, and been generally pleased with the food (lamb shanks and raviolis are outstanding), so I ignored the poor service that has always seemed consistent, but on my last visit, the food was bad as well.

Do not eat at Bruno's Italian Bistro!!

The food and service were bad. The food was cold, tasteless, boring and not representative of what this website reviews said. We ordered the antipasti as an appetizer ($8.99). It was small (considering the cost) and it was missing half the items listed on the menu. After we complained, they added a few more things but not everything that was in the menu. And no apology or explanation from the waiter. The bread was old and hard. The ceasar salad ($2 extra) was horibble. All you could taste was a fishy taste. No garlic what so ever. My veal scallopini with marsala sauce tasted like beef gravy. The rest of the entrees were very below average. The only good thing about the meal was the chianti. All the entrees were expensive between $16-20 and not worth even half that amount.
I will not be returning to eat here.
