I had a good experience at Payless. Had a short wait at the counter to get the car I rented. They offered me a small increase to have an upgraded vehicle. So I took the upgrade.Nice car no issues. Used customer service to extend the return of the car by 4 hrs.was not a problem and was no charge.will use Payless again in the future.
Scam, scam, scam! Was told at check-in that the car I rented (2016 VW Jetta) would not do more than 40mph in the mountains. And was pressed to rent a larger car. Of course, this is complete nonsense, but if you have never driven in the mountains before, you might fall for it. Was told my insurance would not cover me in a rental car (it absolutely does), and was told every possible situation that could happen for 10 minutes. ******BEWARE OF THE FUEL SCAM******They tell you it’s $2.60/gal, don’t worry about returning it full of gas. Just come back and we’ll fill it up here for $2.60/gal. YOU ARE CHARGED FOR A FULL TANK OF GAS NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR. I returned it with 3/4 of a tank and was charged $40 for fuel. The car itself was fine, but the customer service and company policies are intentionally misleading and sneaky. Go somewhere else, even if it’s more expensive. These guys will screw you over and you will end up paying more in the end here.
They only gave me back $12 from my $200 deposit fee and claiming it was for gas and I “brought it back on E”. The first time I got a car from there they charged $57 for tolls and that was understandable but over 180$ for some gas??? I wouldn’t rent a car from there anymore! It’s a ripoff and that’s why their rating is so low. Then they try to play you like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Never again.
This is one of the single worst companies I have ever dealt with. Not just car rentals but companies. They bait and switch, they'll rent you a car and have none there when you arrive and their staff is incredibly rude and poorly trained. We were even threatened by a staff memeber at the Denver airport. Avoid the company at ALL COSTS.
Horrible company. They do not honor the original booking price and then charge additional amounts to your card without explanation. Customer Service cannot figure out why those charges are being accrued and cannot reverse them. Then they tell you that the location office will call you back, which they don't. Ridiculous that they are still in business. They get you with low booking prices but then offer you the worst car they can find.
They are extremely dishonest and will try to rip you off. Evan, the agent who helped me is a criminal. I made my reservation through priceline and got the Allianz insurance through them. Naturally, I declined the insurance. He was extremely pushy with the upgrades but I declined them at all. Although I confirmed with him that there would not be any additional charges, he apparently signed me up for loss damage waiver and other fees, which totaled more than $200.
DO NOT USE!!!! No advantage whatsoever to booking ahead, you wait in line just like everyone else. Waited in line for 45 minutes. The customer service was not good and was even worse when we dropped the car off. The "gentleman" (who was not at all) was rude and condescendingly spoke to us. Was especially demeaning to the females. We found out at drop off we were not given all the proper paperwork upon picking up the car and told us it was our fault for not making sure we had received everything. Worst rental car experience!!!
Great rental car selection, clean vehicles, friendly customer service! Would use Denver SUV Van Luxury Rentals again next summer!
I reserved a 10' truck from this location and even did the online check-in to save myself some time for my move. I calculated the mileage on my overall round trip and specifically chose this location because I have to pick up items from multiple places and this store was centrally located. I arrived at my scheduled pickup time and date and the cashier went through the process to get the truck, they place a hold on my card and I go outside to pick it up. Imagine my surprise when the woman outside pulls a VAN around instead of the 10' TRUCK I reserved. I tell her that I reserved a truck and and insisted the reservation said van. I pulled up my reservation email and low and behold it shows that I had reserved the 10' truck. The cashier tells me that they have no trucks available, even though there are several on the lot (What makes those reservations take precedence over mine I have no idea). He claims to have cancelled the transaction but as of now I still see the pending hold on my account. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and I didn't revive so much as even an apology from the associates at this location. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE would I recommend anyone reserve or rent a truck from here.
I do not recommend renting from Ace even if they offer the best rate. I rented a car months in advance. When I arrived at the office, they tried to give me the run around, offering an upgrade for a pick-up truck that I did not want; I had to say it three times. They did the same to two people in front of me. After I said to the guy, ok be honest, do you have any cars here?, he said no. It was infuriating because they could not plan ahead, knowing that they needed cars, and then they tried to pass their problems onto the customers. They are in need of new management and new customer service policies.
