They did a really good job moving my furniture.. NO COMPLAINTS.. Very good from start to finish.. Crew was nice and professional..
Corey and Mike did an exceptionally GREAT job of my move!! I have moved 7 times in the last 12 years in Denver and they are by far the best I have had. Arrived on time and with their friendly dispositions and helpful manner with everything, the move went by without a hitch! They worked hard the whole time and kept the move MOVING! Everything arrived without a scratch and they packed my more valued items with TLC. I highly recommend them to everyone who wants a move well done!! On the day of the move, we were told that the movers would arrive between 9 and 10. They showed up at 1:30. My husband and I had reserved 300 cubic ft of space in the truck. We’d already and measured out the space. We knew everything would fit. They loaded 1/2 of our things, told us that the rest wouldn’t fit, and that since the small pieces of furniture weren’t all itemized, they couldn’t take them without charging more. We refused, and were left at a standstill for over 1 hour while we tried to get ahold of a supervisor. Eventually, they loaded our things. One week later the delivery driver arrived in Oregon. My parents just moved here, and they didn't have problems with their movers delivering, driving up the road and into the driveway (we live on a dirt road). Our drivers arrived and parked at the end of the road. They walked to the driveway and told us that they couldn’t pull in. We were surprised, but told them that they could unload at the end of the drive and that we would move everything the rest of the way. They went back to their truck and told us that that they couldn’t make it up the road (mind you: not only did my parent’s driver made it up, but several semi trucks do it every day). They said we could either meet them at the end of the road (1/4 of a mile away), or they would charge us more. I called their office. The first supervisor I spoke with told me I had ten minutes to pay before took my things and locked it up in Washington where I’d have to go pick it up if I wanted it. WE paid the drivers who took the money and drove away. The supervisor then told me that if we’d paid more, they could have delivered it . When I told him that I’d call the police to tell them that the movers had taken our money and our things, he told me to go ahead. He said they could legally hold our things for 2 weeks. A few min. later the truck returned. We had several broken items, some that were not replaceable like a chair that came from my husband’s grandmother.
I am experiencing some of the same negative things many have posted on numerous websites in real time as my belongings are still in the process of being delivered from Colorado to San Francisco. Definitely good customer service from the beginning with Denise. From numerous texts emphasizing to beware of moving brokers, that they've been in business for 14yrs, and have an A rating with BBB (current rating is B). Very professional and nice. Started the process and booked move, and was told to give the guys at least 5 days for delivery. Then they led to dispatch with Christi, that's when things started looking negative. Besides having a truly lack of emotional intelligence, Christi switched the move from a Tues to Weds, movers arrived late to first pick up (American Furniture) I called to complain, Christi never returned phone call, then that led to meeting the driver Jesse. That's when I was told that yes, it could take 5 days for delivery, but legally they have up to 21 days for delivery (a fact that Denise did not share from beginning). Also additional charges for possible "7-step" rule that Denise did not disclose from beginning. While loading the minimal 7+ boxes on second stop from my storage unit, no care was taken when loading as a improperly stacked box fell from up high onto one of the kind movers head. We are now on day 6, no word from anyone, no response from Denise at 303-459-2280, nothing. I am deeply concerned in regards to my personal effects, especially after providing a deposit and a 2nd portion of payment of my hard earned money. I would encourage anyone who has had items stolen, boxes rummaged through, to submit a complaint to the BBB. I hired Above & Beyond on behalf of friend moving out of a storage unit. It was a much harder job than I expected - more stuff than I realized, poorly packed or even broken, and moving from a storage unit to an outdoor space. I really want to appreciate the hard work this crew did under tough conditions, but the financial aspects of this move were sloppy or deceitful or both.I was given pricing terms for the move over the phone. The price given as the job began was higher for reasons I never understood, but it was too late to back out. The storage unit was nearly unpacked, and it was after 5 pm. I handed over $1000, cash, and asked for a receipt. I never received one. Pricing/terms were never given in writing for what was covered or what would happen if the job ran over.Once we were 5+ hours into the move and still at the storage unit, additional money was required to 1) add a crew member and 2) extend the time frame. I was able to cover some of this in cash. The rest - $660 - had to be put on a check, which the Lead accepted.The crew and truck arrived at the destination to discover conflict about whether or not the truck could be unloaded there. This was unexpected, and I encouraged the Lead to leave destination or do whatever he needed to do for the safety of his crew. He did not stop the move but did insist that I provide $660 in cash; he did not trust my check.At the request of the crew Lead, I brought cash to exchange for my check, which I was told was destroyed while I was on the phone with the owner. Instead, the check was deposited.Either the check was deposited by mistake - sloppy, but forgivable - or it was deposited deliberately, and I was lied to by both the Owner and the crew Lead.Ken and team, do your customers the courtesy of showing, in writing, your pricing and terms at the beginning of the move. Have them sign off before any work begins. Provide a receipt. And honor your word - fix what you say you'll fix, call when you say you'll call.
After driving from Loveland, I was told that my drop-off-at-the-terminal shipment could not be unloaded because they had no forklifts that could get down to the ground. It was obvious that if they had wanted to, they could have found a way. The guy treated me like I had done something dumb. I recommend someone else, even if it costs more.

This is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. They quoted us one price and then decided to change the amount about mid-way throug the job. They were extremely rude and walked out on the job after about 3 hours because I refused to pay them more. I had to scrable to try to get the rest of my stuff moved. I wound paying them $850 for pretty much nothing.
We were promised to move a 2 bedroom to another apartment for single mom with 3 children. With half way the movers decided to stop and ask for cash $650. So unfair and rediculou. When we asked to speak to supervisor to get help he said he was the manager. No company should be allowed to conduct business this way. We are reporting them to bbb if you need movers don't call these crooks. They are thieves.
Very Happy we ended up choosing these guys. My wife did a search online for moving companies and ended up getting around 50 phone calls from everyone under the sun. The rep from Empire was polite and professional, but also took the longest of anyone to go over the specifics of what we were moving. They weren't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive either, and we decided attention to detail was a good sign that they actually intended to honor their quote. To make a long story short, they did. We moved from just outside Denver to the Seattle area,for the record. The crew that loaded the truck did a good job, and they were equally professional when they got our stuff back to us. Nothing was missing (and I have had that problem before when moving), and the only damage was 2 pieces of glass that go on our side tables were broken but everything else was fine, and frankly the glass wasn't even worth filing a claim over. I was charged exactly what I was originally told I would be charged, and if we ever have to move again I will definitely give these guys a call!
