I'd give negative stars if i could. My direct deposit hasn't started yet so my first check at my new job I took to Wal-Mart to cash. For some odd reason Wal-Mart denied it (which they are known to do from time to time) so I went to Speedy Cash. Because the Walmart associate wrote my license number on the check they automatically assumed it was a bad check because it was denied elsewhere. After several minutes of them trying to figure out how to handle it, without my knowledge they decided to call my job to confirm my employment but called the wrong location (even though they asked what location I worked at in the beginning). I told them I have no idea who they are calling and they are treating me like I'm a criminal to just hang up, give me my stuff back cuz I'm leaving. The teller gave me the one copy of my license but refused to give me the copy with my license and check cuz it had Speedy Cash info saying they need it for their files and it's "copyrighted". I reminded them they did absolutely nothing with my info in the computer so they didn't need it. She still refused but offered to rip it up in front of me. I said if you can rip it up you can give it to me. At that point she went to the corner with my papers and got on her cell phone. I see her pointing her phone over the paper with my info so I asked what she was doing. I was told she was calling the store manager. Honestly, to me it looked like she was either taking a picture of the paper or copying info from the paper. It then dawned on her that my info hadn't been processed so she didn't need that paper but still refused to give it to me. I decided to take her up on her offer to rip it up but small enough it couldn't be pieced back together. She wouldn't do that so I said shred it, but I need to see her shred it. She finally agreed to that. Thinking back I wish I would've asked to see the shreds because for all I know she could've have pressed the setting to not shred. Those people treated me like a criminal all because my license number was written on my check. Had they said from the beginning "we just need to verify your employment because the check was previously denied" I would've said "ok" and there would've been no issues. They handled it completely wrong and had no reason keeping copies of my info when I didn't end up doing business with them. I have never been treated so horribly and embarrassingly in my life. I will never go back there again. I went down the street to Ace and was in and out in under 10 minutes and the lady there was very friendly and understanding and helpful.
