The residential facility is beautiful, the staff is kind and caring. My therapist was wonderful, five months clean since my discharge.
I checked into DAFon Thrusday to try to get help for my drug problem.I was met by this "lovely" lady at the receptionist's window. When I asked what I needed to do, she stared blankly at me like I was a bother, continured chewing whatever it was that was in her mouth. and pointed to a table with some forms on it. She never said word. After waiting for 2 hours she asked me why I was there and proceeded to tell me that she had not entered me into the system yet and that I might as well go home I went back on Friday to wait another 6hours ( another man had been there since 4am. We were told we were waiting for the nurse. When I finally saw the "nurse" I realized it was the same woman I had seen saundering around for literally HOURS snacking on a big back of popcorn and candy,,,,Not just for a half hour to two...but for more than 4 hours.
When I was finally admitted, I was told to leave my bags in the office and they would take care of them for me.
After realizing their form of detox was to keep everyone high on Librium...despite what kind of drug you were detoxing from, I checked myself out voluntarily. While trying to retrieve my things I was told that my HUGE duffell bag with all my clothes in it couldn't be found. I mean, how can you lose a huge duffel bag. My smaller bag they found with no problem. The bags were together when I left them. I called the police and they filed a "report". How many want to bet me as to where that so called report will end up once the officer gets back to the precinct with it...IF it makes it that far.
