Spring Grove Cemetery

Yesterday at Spring Grove Cemetery, Delavan WI. People; if you see this behavior-please call the cops! Sickened by some people; While photographing grave yesterday at this beautiful, historic cemetery--a couple drove into the cemetery, proceeded to let their very large and aggressive dog our of their SUV and allow it to run wild in the cemetery as if it were a dog park. It also came at me; when I asked the man to call his dog he stood and looked at me as if I were speaking another language [yes, they spoke english.] They did not call the dog and it finally took off in another direction; running, tromping over graves and flowers of loved ones and digging a lovely hole on a 19th century grave. I took pictures of their vehicle and got a lovely shot of them in their vehicle with their dog, and them with the dog running wild for the police to process. What is wrong with some people?

I went to the cemetery last week to plant flowers on my parents and brothers plant urns. To my disappointment my fathers urn was upside down and empty. I did not bring any extra dirt. And worst my mothers Urn was gone. Don't understand why any one would want to steal a flower Urn from a cemetery? I have been going to the cemetery every year since 1971 when my father died, I always thought it was a nice clean and peace full place. But during the last 10 years the cemetery seems to be lacking in repair and maintenance. I know every town has budget issues, but is there anything that we can do to help? Perhaps start a fund drive with the community. It is so sad to see this once nice Spring Grove cemetery go down in appearance Gerhard Hopland
