Its a keeper! Had a wonderfull time at the new place to be in Deland , Forno Bello. Stoped in on a suggestion from friends, and I am glad I did! The food was outstanding, I highly reccomend the pizza. That woodfire taste cannot be outdone. The service was 5 star. The atmosphere is unrivaled for miles. Please dont just take my word for it, try for it your self
Waited at least 45 minutes to NOT be seated while we ordered drinks at the bar. There were only two people ahead of us. The bartender, the only positive, spoke to the hostess. She had removed our name from the list, assured us we were next. Manager seated at least two parties of four after the hostess pointed to us waiting. Told us she didn't know we were waiting, Big disappointment!
I was absolutely flabbergasted with our "attempt" at a meal tonight, Fri, 9/20/13. We were promptly seated at 6:10pm -- four adults and a child. We ordered an appetizer which was delivered after our salads. The childs pizza was delivered 'fairly' promptly. We (adults) waited over two hours for our meals -- on four separate occasions (without us asking), our waitress said "your meals are the next up," only to be disappointed. Three of the four meals were 'stone cold.' A person identifying herself as the Owner came to our table and apologized as, and I quote it is "trial and error" and we weren't prepared. Shocked is beyond belief. Needless to say I came home without eating as did my daughter-in-law. The others were just plain not satisfied. The "owner" you would have thought, would have comped all the meals and offered a coupon for our next visit -- FORGET IT, we will not be back!!! The Worst!!
Tony Boffa is the owner and head chef, he has been one of the best pizza makers in Florida for three decades, I have known him for many years, In that time have seen him use only the best and freshest ingredients, the hardest working owner/ operator, who truly cares about his product and his staff, and still takes time to spend with his family, a really great man, his pizza is always a treat.
