Debbie S Pet Grooming in Del Rio, TX

I have left my two dogs and one cat at VIP every time we go to New York for a month. My pets LOVE the staff at this place so much that they get excited when we drop them off. The staff are all friendly, polite, and clearly love animals. When we pick them up after their month long "holiday" they are happy and healthy. They have staff members check on the animals every day, and spend time with them so they are not so lonely. In fact, one year our cat was the only one in the cat area, so the staff cuddled him, and let him walk around inside the office so he wouldn't be alone.Update (Jan 21, 2017): I decided to give VIP another chance at grooming my two dogs since it has been a number of years since I took them there for grooming. I used to bring them every month for years, but the grooming got sloppy when they hired a new groomer around 2014. I figured they may have a new groomer by now, so let's give it a shot. The best thing I can say is NEVER AGAIN! My male dog ended up with a bald spot on one of his hind legs, and my female dog not only appeared to not have been brushed out, but the matted fur was never touched! It appears as if she were simply shampooed and dried ... that's it! I could have done that myself and saved almost $100. I had to brush her out for over an hour at home, then cut out all her matts myself. Their grooming department has gone downhill ever since they lost the guy from Mexico who was studying to be a vet. He was the best groomer ever, but since he left VIP the grooming department is terrible. Better to do it at home and save your money. For this reason I had to lower my rating from 5 stars to 3.

Animal PHouse is an excellent and well run Kennel! I had a german shepherd that did not like anyone but me, but Joyce walked up to him, put a leash around his neck, and he followed her away from me without a whimper. He dearly loved Joyce as long as he live he never forgot her. .Great place to board you dog if you love your animal!

My gordy loves it here- he gets excited everytime we bring him- wonderful people and very friendly.

We took our dog to this business for a bath and grooming with specific instructions about what hair to cut and what hair to leave alone. He returned to us with a horribly over-groomed coat, completely not in accordance with our desires or instructions. A phone call to the owner to discuss dissatisfaction was met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and ultimately with an abrupt hang-up. Rude and incompetent is a very bad combination indeed.

Took my dog to board. Smelled horrible when I picked her up. Looked like she'd been running thru her own feces all weekend. I mentioned she smelled bad & they just looked at me with no answers, a bit rude. I didn't like the idea of her being able to go out at night where snakes & other things that could get at her. Will never go back again... Best bet is for anyone thinking of leaving your animal there to think again & go somewhere else.
