Pita Pete's was my go-to lunch...

Pita Pete's was my go-to lunch place when I was a grad student. The staff is super friendly and I loved that I could throw anything I wanted on a pita. Pro tip: the Open Pit BBQ is way better than the Sweet Baby Ray's. Also, get their fresh brewed iced tea.

Best Falafel in DeKalb!

This place is a great spot in DeKalb to grab lunch! I'm a huge fan of falafels and it's hard to find a good one in this area. Add hummus to yours - it's fabulous! A bit of advice: try going here when the NIU kids aren't around. It's a zoo getting in and out of that part of campus.
