Signing my mother into RR is the biggest mistake of my life. I do not recommend this facility on any level.Expertise: Many of the nurses including the Director of Nursing lacked the knowledge in how to work with 1) a person who does not want to go to assisted living - they drugged mom to keep her quiet & with "the program" 2)a family who has various opinions& 3)the client who has dementia. They lack patience, basic understanding, caring and creativity needed to find solutions & redirect on an individualized basis. I often found one nurse flustered and talking bad about mom. Facility: My mothers room smelled, sort of like old chemicals. I hated walking into her room. The wall paper is old & dark in the hallways. The men sit in the sunny room & the woman in the darker room to eat. My mother wanted to sit in the sunny room & you'd think she was asking for the moon - all hell broke loose from the Director of Nursing. And that shook my mom to the bone, as many other moments didProfessionalism: the administrative Director bullied & belittled me as health care power of attorney & as my mothers daughter. The Director of Nursing lied to me regarding the legal authority of the Health Care Power of Attorney as well as my mothers health. Overall, I believe the staff, other then some nurses & CNA's lack the proper motivations/skill to do a good job. The Directors were unapproachable & "all knowing". This has repercussions among the staff, the facility, andclients - how it's run and how they are treated. My mother was basically drugged to keep her quiet, to get with the "program", & to continue paying them $3,500. I was misled while making the choice to put my mom at RR. Further, they made little attempt to work w/ mom & her dog & had no idea nor willingness to want to solve the challenges that arose. I do NOT recommend this facility on any level. It added stress & contributed to the severe decline of mom -6 months into it, she couldn't walk, was isolated & malnourished.
