Ear Infections
Upper Respiratory Infections can involve the nose, mouth, sinuses, or throat. These are usually viral infections and are very common in babies and children. Most children have 6-8 colds a year and they often last 7-10 days. For some kids, especially those in daycare it seems that they always have a cold. Occasionally colds will lead to an ear infection or sinus infection, but the large majority of colds are self limited and will go away on their own. We can help a bit with comfort measures, but there is nothing other than time that will make the cold disappear.

Emergency Care
There is always a doctor on call and available 24/7 for after hours urgent and emergency advice. If you can’t find the answer on our website and/or are worried about your child CALL US FIRST, before heading to an ER, urgent care or minute clinic (except in true emergencies.)
Flu Shots
PARENTS: As a convenience we have shots for $25.00 cash (no credit or debit cards) and strongly recommend flu shots for every household member, especially if there is a baby under 6 months (they are too young to be vaccinated, but at high risk for complications if they get the flu.) You can ask for a receipt to file your insurance if desired.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am until 5:00pm. The phones are answered for appointments to be scheduled by our front office staff from 8:30 to 1:00 and from 1:45 to 5:00pm. Same day sick appointments are available every day, as are nurse visits for things like newborn weight checks, immunizations, and strep tests for older children. Well visits are scheduled up to three months in advance, but we save some slots for changes and add ons up to 3 days in advance. On line sick appointments and recheck appointments are available to be made at any time through the patient portal up to 3 days in advance. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
A common concern we hear raised by parents and/or teachers is that a child is having difficulty keeping focused on activities including school work. Attention problems can interfere with behavior and performance both at home and at school. Unfortunately, exactly what is going on is not always clear. Some children will have ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, either hyperactive type, inattention type or mixed. Others may have different behavioral issues, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression and/or other psychological issues that may complicate the picture and make a diagnosis difficult.

We understand that there is a lot of uncertainty, messages that change daily, and no clear ending to what we are all experiencing. We feel that keeping up with immunizations, newborn care, care for kids with chronic conditions and mental health issues is essential and are doing our best to maintain staffing and balance this need alongside with caring for our sick kids, administering covid vaccines and testing that we continue to offer. 5. We are successfully using our Nurse Practioner led phone triage and telemedicine for many other concerns, such as rashes, allergies, pink eye, GI symptoms, and behavioral health follow ups. Call for an appointment.

We do not make “sick visits” in advance. Often pediatric illness is viral and self limiting. Kids are much better a few days later and no longer need to be seen. If you call because your child is, for example wheezing, we want to see you that same day, not 4 days later! We do schedule recheck visits, and visits for more chronic conditions, such as eczema, behavior issues and allergies in advance.
